Please help!! I have already chosen the diamond for my e-ring upgrade and I am stumped on a setting. I am getting a 2.04 Ct. princess cut with a lenth to width ratio of 1.02, so it''s pretty square. I really like the setting that I have attached. However, I am concerned about it being too much b/c it is 7mm wide. My other choices are a basic 2.5 mm tiffany or a contour setting. I would appreciate your input!

hi sparkler,

just my two cents but i think a thinner band tends to make a center stone look much larger.

Hi Sparkler,

Do you know what size the stone in the picture is? I would imagine that a 2ctw stone in this setting would have a "chunky" look. That may be the look you are going for, but that's why I ask what size the stone in the picture is. If it is smaller than yours, I would think that yours would look more chunky since you'd have "big ring and big stone". That's not a bad thing, just make sure it's the look you are going for.

Thank you for your input. Do you think a 2.5mm Tiffany or a contour setting instead?

WOW, that is a nice mounting. I like it!

IMO, those two looks are really different (a thin "tiffany" band versus a 7 mm band). Are you into a chunkier look or a more classic/sleek look? Maybe something in between would be preferable - like a 3 mm band perhaps?

i agree that the 2.5mm band would look better, and i think in the long run, you will be most happy with it. definitely makes the diamond have center stage

I want a more classic sleek look. I have decided that I do not want the 7mm setting anymore. The classic "tiffany" is nice, but what about a "contour" setting?
