hi everyone! i''m new to this board. i recently ran into a little problem with the loose diamond on my ering. fiance purchased the diamond from a local jewelry store at the mall (Christian Bernard). when he bought it they gave him a xerox copy of the GIA report. the table looked very clean and that was the main reason he opted for the 1cart FSI1 excellent/excellent. we were debating over that and the .90 EVS2 excellent/excellent. well when we got the GIA report in - to our surprise their was a cloud in the middle of the table. i was not able to see the cloud under the loop but i had no problem when i looked at it under the scope. well the manager said he''ll show me some more diamonds. he brought out an EVS2 excellent/excellent with faint florescence - he wanted 12k for that stone along ( we paid $6,700 for the FSI1). he dropped the price to 10k, but i said i dont want to pay any more then what i have already. so he showed me some other diamonds and i still didnt like them. i got fed up and talked to the regional manager. long story short he showed me a FVS2 excellent/ excellent. he said he can sell that one for $7500. i told him that i liked the EVS2 that they had for 12k. he finally caved in and said i can have it for 8k and that i''m robbing him since that diamond was invoiced at $7900 their store.
so - i guess what i am asking is. is the EVS2 at 8k a good price even with the faint florescence? over all the stone is very pretty. the only inclusion that it had on the GIA report was 6 crystals on the side near the griddle.
any comments and thoughts would be apperciated.
thanks!
