Super new to jewellery !

I just recently got this bracelet from a very small local store. The lady said it was a very old ruby bracelet. So I bought it for £75. She usually sells stuff for really low prices, so I don’t know if £75 is a good price or not.

I’ve taken a closer look with a little microscope and I saw some numbers are letters. I’ve seen the word ‘METAL’, 925 and what seems like ‘F JF’. I also saw some other writing on the other side. But it was extremely small and I can’t figure out what it says.

I’d appreciate any help to let me know a bit more about this bracelet, and maybe how much it’s worth :)

Here are some photos of it:

The 925 indicates sterling silver. The ruby clarity isn't great, and I don't know whether it's your phone or their actual color, but they're quite pinkish. I wouldn't call this a steal. Assuming good workmanship, my guess is that it would retail at 1x-2x what you paid for it. More for the setting workmanship, not so much the rubies themselves. It's possible they are simply translucent, but it's also possible they're glass-filled. Rubies tend to be tricky for beginners because as @Bron357 can tell you, the price varies A LOT depending on quality and treatments.

It’s sterling silver which is probably a hint that the rubies may be lead glass filled or synthetic. I still think it’s a very pretty piece and I’m glad it was only 75 pounds and not thousands. I don’t think you did poorly, as it’s an aesthetically nice piece. I think it looks well made! Enjoy! Just please do not steam clean or put in an ultrasonic cleaner.
