Hello everyone, I found this forum on google. And I figure this community could help where google hasn't.

I'm researching how to sell 2 rings, and who or where to go to. And looking for info on appraisals and just overall worth and value of them to get the best dollar for them to help some family members in need.

First is my class ring. I can't remember if its silver or white gold I cannot tell. But it has 12 diamonds(is what my mother claims) and my birthstone(emerald) in the center. Its a big lunky ring not the small ornate one. The supposed emerald has the words "skills USA" embedded in the middle of the stone. So it makes me believe the only value would be in the acclaimed 12 tiny diamonds and the weight of the rings metal.

The second ring belonged to my father in laws father. Which passed on to my father in law when his father passed away. This ring is yellow gold(can't recall he karrot) and has various diamondsand iI think a sapphire(blue) in the middle. It was once appraised for 20,000 dollars. But there's no documentation to prove it that we have on hand.

I apologize for the generic information, I'm just looking for a starting point. Were searching for the quickest sale for the most amount we can get. I'm just wondering if I should go for a free appraisal, or pay for a written one to shop around with if it would produce better bids.
And I alsobwantvto know if i have better odds with big chain stores like staffords or zsales etc vs pawn shops or consignments or even sites like eBay or Craigslist.

I'm new to all this and I'm trying to get some money to help some relatives get through a hard time. Any recommendations or advice would be humbly appreciated. Obviously the $20k ring is the main goal here, im hoping we could get at least 5-10k out of it but like I said I know nothing we just assuming if it theoretically WAS worth that much then surely it could produce half the amount? I'mjust looking for some opinions from people with experience or some advice.

Thank you very much for the time reading this and god bless.

There is a list of appraisers under "resources" at the top of the page. Get an appraisal - sometimes you can take your jewelry in and for a small fee they will discuss value - then get a written appraisal if you need it.
They can often tell you what a good asking price is.

You can list your rings free on loupetroop.com

also check out diamond bistro.

At least this is a place to start!

This is too much beautiful & too much glorious i like it very much.
