I had my ec reset with a lower basket setting. The size remained the same. Now it scrapes my knuckle every time I put it on. I am thinking of having it reset again. Need some ideas. I like low set but I want to get a matching flush fit band this time. Looking for white gold.

I love pricescope. I wish I found this site sooner. Maybe I wouldn''t have made this mistake.

One more thing. Price is definitely a concern this time. Since it is now the THIRD time. Yikes!

do you have pics? is there a reason why you would just not have it resized? You can have the inside of the band shaved a bit to increase the size.

There is a pic of the ring. I don''t remember the link. However, it is a 5mm flat platinum band, no side diamonds, and I guess I am hating the ring. I know it terrible to say it. No wedding band looks nice with it. I did have one made to fit flush. It does, but because these rings hurt, I don''t wear them. BTW, the diamond is a 4C ec cut and is really lovely. It''s a shame really.

I tried to search for your ring but didn''t come across anything. Perhaps someone else can find it or you can post another pic here. Maybe you are just not liking it right now because of the fact that it hurts to put it on. Why not get it resized so that it is comfortable, then wear it for a while? Give it a chance and you might come to love it. That is what happened to me with several rings that I have.

I found the pics, but they are tiny!

That is a huge beautiful EC diamond. Maybe a half-bezel setting would suit your needs? The band itself is very wide-- perhaps a smaller (thinner) band would make you feel better about pairing it with a wedding band.

I would love to see the EC with the newer setting to get an idea as to what is hurting your fingers (that''s no fun!) and to have clearer pictures so we may be able to provide you with more suggestions.

The new setting is really a new basket on this band. It is set low, which I thought I would like, but it scratches my knuckle and there is no pretty w-band to sit flush.

Are you saying that the bottom of the basket is scratching your knuckle or the top of the diamond? I''m trying to get a picture of what part of the ring is scratching you up.... (I''m a little slow tonight!)...

Also, what type of w-band are you looking for?? There are many beautiful bands that can go with an EC...

The diamond is now set too low. My other rings, which are sized a 6 1/2 and do not scrape my knuckle. It''s the setting. It also weighs a ton (It''s platinum.) I''d like to reset it in a new wedding set with a matching band. I don''t want the diamond to sit up too high and I need a setting that the shank is the same width top and bottom. This way it won''t spin.

Thank you to all at pricescope. What would I do without you?
