have been reading the forums for a good while now and i am ready to start the search for an egagement ring

my budget it really tight and i can strtch to about £2200 for ring and stone

Being in the Uk i realise that i am at a disadvantage from the get go but i am hoping some of you experienced people will be able to help with suggestions and reccomendations

I have been into a local jewellers and have viewed a GIA graded stone that Was H in colour as a reference point for the colour grade (i dont want a stone that looks yellow or has a noticable yellow tint)

my ideals are: around 0.75CT H or better Colour and a 'eye clean' SI1 or 2. ideally round brilliant but not 100% ruled out a princess cut

the ring itself i think i am set on a palladium setting

is this possible to do

like i said i am no expert have just been doing a lot of research and would like something that is white to look at and nice and sparkly

Did you already have a setting design in mind?

no not a design per say but im just wanting a nice simple setting to hopefully show off the stone

im not interested in the ring being super duper fancy and realise by doing this it will enable me to spend slightly more on the stone

You need to find out if they are eye-clean and if Union Diamond can provide you with ASET or Ideal Scope picture. Maybe you can pair it with this http://www.uniondiamond.com/control...ctId=JEN10083PD&jewShapeVal=SHAPE_01&rbStep=2 Palladium is not as common as Pt or Au, but Union Diamond carries a lot of palladium settings.

thanks for the links had a quick look through them on the face of them they all look as if they would do the job if they were eye clean

although the big problem is as im in the UK the tax and import duty comes in at around 21% which would negate any savings on the stone itself

thanks again for you help i will continue on the quest

my minimum on colour is H
all my other paramiters are somewhat flexible as long as the stone sparkles and is an eye clean stone
