Thanks for allowing me in.
I picked a ring I’ve had on layaway for a few minutes from a very reputable local jeweler. It’s an estate piece in platinum. It is a GREEN Zircon. Apparently from my research it IS fairly rare. It’s color is forest green in natural light but under office/led the color really pops. Can any of you give me a little more knowledge of this stone and perhaps an age of the ring? Or direct me to the proper site to do that. Thanks A6B79D56-26D0-4A1F-9D71-EA42506C627B.jpeg 80ED4E02-49BC-4009-A130-3149358EC3A9.jpeg 500C99DB-3B52-4660-9394-21530386D6F5.jpeg

The ring looks like it’s from the 1990’s, that style was pretty popular then. Green zircon is an interesting gem. It’s slightly radioactive (not enough to harm you though). It can be more minty colored, but you have a forest green shade. It’s not a particularly valuable gem, so if you insure it, I would insure it for the setting, which looks to have a great deal of platinum and diamonds. I suspect the original stone in that ring was a diamond, but they replaced it with the zircon. Enjoy your find. It’s very pretty.
