Hello everyone,

I am a new member here on the website but have been lurking and doing some research for quite awhile. I am getting ready to purchase a Princess Cut diamond in the range of 1.28 carat to 1.35 carat and have found one on James Allen that looks interesting and am hoping that I could get some opinions on it since I am definitely not an expert. It is a 1.28 Carat Princess H Color VS1 and is priced at $5960. Please let me know what you think. I appreciate all of your help in advance.I have provided the link below:

Thanks

Looks good to me so far. Request an IS image from JA and post it here.

Hi Paulin

It looks promising, ask James Allen for an Idealscope image of the diamond then we can go from there. ASET is preferred for fancy shapes but JA only provide IS at this time.

If you aren''t familiar with ASET and Idealscope, this page explains.

I just want to thank everyopne that has commented so far about this diamond. I have gone ahead and requested the IS image for this diamond from JA and will post it as soon as I receive it. The other diamond that I am considering is a 1.30 carat Princess G Color SI1 that GoodoldGold has on their website for $6365. I have attached the link here:

My only concern is that it states that "This diamond has 2 open surface inclusions that can be protected with a prong so it will not be of further threat." I have no idea if this is a major flaw or not in the diamond and right now am leaning towards the JA diamond. Hopefully, you guys can help me further once I receive the IS image from JA. Let me know your thoughts on the GOG diamond if you don''t mind.I appreciate the help!

I would think by this they mean the natural and cavity, a natural is a little piece of the original diamond''s ''skin'' left on the girdle sometimes and is not an issue. Cavity is a polite word for hole, not necessarily an issue, what I would do is contact Jon at GOG and have a chat with him about the stone.
