So, I''ve been lurking for quite some time, but I held off on registering because my SO hasn''t seemed very interested in getting engaged/married. Over New Years, he told me that he wants to get engaged at the end of 2010. Actually, he "pinky-swore" (that''s just what he does when he''s trying to tell me that he''s serious about something), because I didn''t believe him at first. I know two years is a long time, but it doesn''t feel long at all-I was expecting to be waiting much longer than that.
I made a resolution not to bring up getting engaged for the rest of the year. I know it seems silly, but I know my SO, and the less I talk about it, the better he will feel about it. It''s really important to me that he not feel pressured or forced into proposing-that would be fun for no one.
After making my resolution, I figured I should register, since I''m sure I''ll need to talk to someone!
This is definitely one of the most encouraging and supportive forums I have come across, and I''m very excited to be joining.
