I would tell them to pay closer attention to the proportions of the 'center' stones to the sidestones. They need to scale back those marquise and the clusters so that the are more in line with the original.
I agree that the proportions of the 2 center stones to the rest of the diamond accents are not the same as the one in the inspiration ring. Either the center stones need to be larger or the rest of the accents need to be smaller.
Thank you ladies for your input. Hopefully this disproportion is just due to the CADS looking a bit bulky. Perhaps it is also due to keeping the marquise towards top of the finger and not down sides where they would rub the other fingers. Also, the 6mm and 6.5mm were the only ones available in the blue and yellow I wanted. This is to be a mothers ring and I wanted certain colors to represent my children.
The last CAD is the one that will be made. The first 2 show the 2 center stones as being "kite-set". But the last one has them sitting more straight. I tried to find a handshot of the original ring to see how everything lay on a finger but was only able to find one blury picture. It sure would have been helpful, but I guess handshots weren't popular back then.
So, again, you shouldn't just assume that it will all work out. You should mention the proportionality issue to the vendor. Directly. So they know it is an issue and address it.
Yes, agreed that the proportions are off - so off that the side diamonds just look like large clusters as opposed to the intricate leaf/vine design on the inspiration ring.
