well, he's younger than i wanted but we've given a new home to a small kitten of about 13 weeks. he was dumped with 3 siblings [eyes closed and not even a box to house them] on a very hot day onto a hot paved parking lot in Santa Clara back in June. luckily, they were rescued.....and the foster mother who hand raised and fed them is our cat/housesitter when we're gone. it was a chance to have a cat with no "baggage" so to speak. he was the runt of the litter but is tall of leg, long of body and tail, and a good fit personality wise with our much older feline population.

after having so many cats over the last years with health issues and dying from cancer, it is a joy to have so much vitality and life in the house!

OMG how cute! I hope you'll post more pictures! So glad he's going to have such an wonderful home!

:appl: He's precious! Congratulations on your adorable new addition!

awwww, he's so beautiful! So happy he found such a wonderful home MZ!! :appl:

He is adorable!!!! And so lucky to have found you guys. I love tuxedo kitties!!

He's adorable!!

Aww.... He's so cute!
It's just awesome to have fur babies in the house - they even get the older/big kids moving too!

Congrats on the new addition! :appl:

Love that photo where he's rolling onto the window!!! I'm a sucker for the cute poses!!

Congrats on being a new 'fur' mom!

awww he's simply adorable.......... love the second pic not a care in the world lol. Congrats MZ oh I love the name also, do you pronounce it parcours?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parkour

it became obvious that our guy is a natural! we've had him since 7p on 8/1 and he has demonstrated remarkable skill!

he is named in honor of david belle. this is how we pronounce it:

par·kour
  [pahr-koor]
noun
the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running: his amazing parkour skills. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/Parkour

there is much debate re correct pronunciation so even "park - or" is purported to be correct by some.....probably will get called 'Parker' by many.

however, he had his first vet visit today and the receptionist knew how to pronounce it and about the sport!

what's worse is techically our little feline domesticus is a "traceur" which opens up a whole 'nother can of pronunciation worms!

I wondered if you named him after the sport. I had a student who is a competitive Parkour-er. It's a really awesome thing to watch, if you can catch someone doing it!

there is a lot of footage on youtube for those that haven't seen it.....david belle is imo the best.

oh dear, it's SO CUTE!!!!

Yay!! Congratulations!! Kittens are the best. Hard to not have a smile on your face with a kitten in the house.

not as clear but who can resist?!

PRECIOUS!!!! This photo needs to be on cuteoverload.com!

So adorable! We had a kitty that looked very much like him!

What a sweetie! And what a lucky kitty - to have landed in such a wonderful home!

My dear Squeaky was of the tuxedo persuasion (although he was gray and white) so tuxedos have a special place in my heart. =)

HA we always say Olivia (kitty in my avatar) does parkour! She does hand plants off of walls (with all 4 paws) and other amazing jumps and leaps! She's almost 9 but is still parkouring it up! You're in for years of entertainment!

And congrats on your new addition-he is adorable! :appl:

Oh MY GOSH!!! He's so precious!! That picture of him on your back is just amazing. I'm so happy for you and for him for scoring such an amazing home!

When we got my Merlin at 1 year my others (all over 7) had adjustment issues. It was like Punky Brewster meets the Golden Girls (yes I'm dating myself). I hope your transition is more harmonious.

Congrats on your new kitty. So handsome! I had a lovely male tuxedo named Gimmick. He had a fantasic personality. I still miss him :(sad
I'm sure your new little guy will bring you lots of joy =)

Oh MZ, he is just the dearest little soul...

That spotted wee nose is over-the-top cute.

actually, that's my husband's shoulder.......kitty loves riding his shoulders....likes mine, too, but hubby's are bigger! however, kitty fell asleep on my chest........

my Gato cat that i had for 20 years looked very much like this one....i almost named Parkour "Gato Too".....

thus far response from other felines has been unenthusiastic but not horrible. our floor plan is big and open. kitty has a protected area in the middle where all traffic must pass. has his bed, some toys, cat box and at night food and water. there is a top on it, too. its near where the other cats eat, too. however, only they have access to the cat run on the deck outside the family room area. he can see them but has not yet used the cat door to it....but he knows what it is and how its used as he sees the others do it.

there have been noses touched, some hissing, but no go for the throat actions. Brita, the female, is the least friendly. Harley the oldest [just completed his 6 doses of chemo in June] seems the most tolerant! Spikey isn't sure.....

pictures of Spikey & Brita [the fat tuxedo is Brita]; they were on the bed with hubby while Parkour was on hubby's shoulder [Harley got off the bed before i got the camera into motion]:

I love kitties and all of yours are adorable! :D

They are all so gorgeous, MZ! Love Spikey & Brita: "We are claiming our part of the bed & will stick here like the Rock of Gibralter!" Your little Parkour-er is too cute to be described. And a shoulder-cuddler too, what else can one ask for?

What a handsome guy! I especially love his bi-colored nose, and the black spot on his chin. Congrats on the new addition! And your other babies are precious, too.

Awww he's so sweet! I love kitty pictures!

who knew there were so many "tuxedo" cats:

Cats with beautiful white markings might have larger or smaller areas of white. If you want to describe your cat's color more precisely, there are different names for the different amounts of white no matter if your feline kitty has long or short hair:
A "mitted" cat just has white paws.
A pet with a white spot found on its chest has a "locket."
A cat with one or more little white belly spots has "buttons."
A "bi-color" is about half white.
A "harlequin" is mostly white with several large patches of color.
A "van" is almost all white with color patches only on the head and tail.
A "tuxedo cat" is a black and white cat with white paws, chest, and belly. It might have some white on the face as well.
Some people call black and white cats "jellicle cats" (after T.S.Eliot)
With those terms now in mind, search through the numerous black and white cat names we have assembled for you, so that your distinctive, and sometimes rather formal looking white and black cat, gets that perfect name that suits his or her style. Like a tuxedo, make it a perfect fit!

this a.m. Spikey was on the bed at my shoulder and little Parkour was curled up on top of me....this is big progress! both getting kitty pets at the same time. Brita decided to exit.....she really is being the most obtuse obese kitty right now. her whole world is upside down. i will give her a combing today and she will be ever so happy.

as i said in the original post, after so much disease and death in our feline population, it is a pure joy to have this kitty in our family.

What a cutie!
