Hi all,
I've been looking for a princess cut diamond for a while for my girlfriend's future ER, and ran across a 1.3ct AGS0 G SI1 Princess the other day. I found that another site had the same diamond previously, with more detailed information about it.

It turns out that the diamond has a few open surface inclusions on the near very close to a corner, as well as an open cavity on the underside of the diamond. I know that prongs will cover the inclusions near the corner, but should I worry about these open surface inclusions and the cavity at all? I'd definitely get the diamond inspected by a certified gemologist whenever I do decide on one.

I've been looking for a 1.5ct excellent quality princess cut, but all of the specs on this one look pretty good to me, and the price is right around where I want to be! The inclusions are a little unnerving though. I'd like to hear what the PS community has to say about these inclusions. I know an SI1 isn't going to be perfect by any means, but I don't want a rock that's going to eventually cause me headaches in the long term if those inclusions are causes for concern!

Anyway, here are the specs, followed by images of the diamond (actual, inclusion plot, Ideal-Scope, ASET, and various pictures of the inclusions). I didn't want to leave anything out!

The way the surface breaking inclusions (and cavity) are positioned, I would think that they pose no threat to the durability of the diamond.

Looks like a gorgeous stone.

Beautiful diamond!

Hi! I have a small "knot" on the surface of my diamond... It''s not noticeable unless under great magnification... It does not effect the durability of my stone AT ALL!! I was freaked out about it at first, but I had 2 different GIA certified GG''s look at it and they said it''s all good! I love my diamond, and you will LOVE your sparkler too!

Thanks for your responses! I''ve decided to put a hold on the diamond for a week while I continue to search for other viable options, but this one seems to be the winner thus far!

Any thoughts about what looks to be a large light leakage spot in the middle of the diamond on the Ideal Scope image? In my search, I haven''t seen any other diamonds that have that ''feature''.

Another diamond I was considering is this 1.51ct I VS2 from James Allen. It''s a larger diamond for roughly the same price, better clarity, though lower color and cut.
