HCA = 2.8.

Another GIA "EXCELLENT" Steep Deep.

I'd keep shopping.

AT the top of this screen click on TOOLS
Then Cut Advisor.
Enter four numbers.
Click go.
Further pursue only stones with HCA under 2.0.

could be good, but will need to see the Idealscope/ASET image to confirm.

When I used the tool it gave me a 2.8 "very good for the right price". What would be a general range for a good price for this stone if it was in fact good and also if it was bad?

Is the idealscope/ASET image something I can get off of the GIA website?

Idealscope/ASET image is something you will have to ask the vendor. Not all will be able to provide it though.

Price is good means if you compared it with a similar stats stone but better cut and is discounted. Then price is good. :P

This one is borderline, might be ok but need images to know for sure, ask the vendor for an Idealscope image.

So the dealer doesn''t have an idealscope or an image of this diamond but I did take a look at it last night. I saw something on the diamond that I''ve never seen before. I''ll try to explain it as best as I can since I do not have a picture. It looked like there was a hole slightly off center from the middle of the diamond. Almost like I can see through the body of the diamond to the bottom. I''ve looked at a couple diamonds before and never saw this but that was before I knew of steep deep diamonds. I''ve read that one of the results of a steep deep diamond is that you will get a black hole in the middle. The hole that I saw was not completely black. Throughout the diamond, parts of it looked black I am guessing due to the lighting and the angle. Is this assumption safe to make? Is this "hole" that I am seeing a result of a steep deep diamond?

The jeweler told me that it was just reflections. Also, whenever I mentioned steep deep he would refer to the table size and not the CA or PA. Does the table have much to do with steep deep diamonds or is he just not familiar with the term?

Could be leakage, leakage doesn't look like a round hole so much, more like a small patch or depending on the extent of the leakage, a dark ring around the table. Check out some of the photos in this thread to see if these look similar in anyway.

You can see that circle in the middle of the diamond. The hole that I saw was similar to this but more transparent. I was looking at the diamond at 10x magnification with a _____(not sure what this is called).

Are the pictures above considered steep deep? And would 13.2 be a decent price if this diamond was good?
