Ugh. Ladies, I just really need to vent.

It all started January 2009 when BF (our income earner) unexpectedly lost his job...since then, it has been a downward slope. While BF has a job now that pays more than the previous job and he loves his job...we just can't get out of our slump. It feels like one thing after another. Our apartment got broken into. I graduated in December and STILL can't find a "real" job! BF's car had an issue that needed to be repaired and wasn't cheap. Now, not only are we moving in a couple weeks, so I'm saving every penny for related expenses...my beloved dog has been sick with a bladder infection. She is on her first course of antibiotics and I'll be going back to the Vet next week for more testing and another round of antibiotics. Not only are vet visits pricey, I'm worried about my baby. Recently, my father had told me about an opening with his company in my field and in my location...and nothing has happened with it. And of course, everything happens at terrible times. I have no health insurance and need to go to 2 doctors for 2 prescriptions within the next couple weeks...all at the same time I'm trying to save for moving. When will things go right for us?

I just needed to lay out my frustrations. Thanks for listening.

I am so sorry Chloe, i know about falling on hard times, the only thing i can really say is to try and stay positive, and when all else fails, eating some ice cream.....not a whole bunch but some!

I know the feeling when everyhting is just not going the way you want it too.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything will start heading in the right direction for you soon.

Aww Chloe I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time right now :(. It does always seem like when bad things happen they happen all at once. I hope your dog gets healthy soon and I hope everything starts getting better for you soon. Here is some **dust** for the job hunt. Feel better, we're here for you!

Think of it this way- things are probably only going to get better from here. And when they are, you will appreciate them that much more! Also- if you and your bf can make it through this, it's a great indication that you'll be able to make it through whatever else live ever may offer. Chin up!

Thanks ladies. Just so frustrating that we try and try and can't seem to get on track!
Jessie, good call on the ice cream. :naughty:

Hopefully you are moving into a less expensive place. Good luck!

I am so sorry for the rash of troubles. Self medication is a fine tool for dealing.

My list but in no particular order:

extra large french fries and burger
a killer exercise session where you leave it all on the court, so to speak
at least 2 beers

now here's the clincher and I renounce and reject myself for offering this, but I promise it helps

Go to the Discovery channel or something like that, or look it up on Youtube, but watch one of the following shows:

-Hoarders
or
-Half Ton Mom/Dad/Son

It sounds like you have quite a load to take on. Things will get better- you just have to keep reminding yourself about that. Sometimes, when there are too many things going on (especially a move and caring for sick loved ones/pets) it is not easy to pour the right amount of energy into other things, like finding a job. Cut yourself some slack! And don't forget, the economy sucks and it would be a real feat if you were to find a "real" job in less than a year after you graduate - trust me.

Hang in there.

I'm sorry things are looking so bleak right now. I do hope your dog gets well soon, and wish you the best of luck with the job search. About a year ago now, my boyfriend was also jobless (he was unemployed for about a year), I was pretty much penniless (still am, but at least I'm making a dent in my debt), my bunny was critically ill, and I had pretty much lost all hope. So I have an idea of at least some of what you're going through, and it sucks. That said, the good thing about being at the bottom of the barrel is there is nowhere to go but up. You know things will improve soon enough, because, well, that's what things do. I hope they will for you, sooner rather than later. They did for me, so I'll pass my dust on to you.
