I am deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on this RB. I have a gia cert and a magnified image. No ideal scope. Please help me figure out if this will have brilliance, fire and scintillation.

2.15 crts
AGA/NAJA cut class tool scores a 1A
J SI1
ex cut grade
VG polish and VG sym
No fluorescence.

Is this considered pretty eye clean for an SI1?
I have been studying other magnified RB images on other online sources and the patterns seem to vary a lot even when depth and table and other dimensions are similar. How does the patterning look on this one?

I know it would be best if I had an ideal scope but I don't. For the experts does this pic and cert look like my likelihood is good that it will be a nice bright sparkly diamond? I do have the option to return but really would like to avoid the headache if I can.

Impossible for us to judge. The indications are positive, with a few outliers...

VG polish and VG sym
If you're pedantic about finest possible craftsmanship this may give you pause. If you're just seeking "pretty" it's not a deal breaker.

There is no way to tell from a photograph. Period. Ask the seller, and be very specific about your definition. If you have it in-hand you can judge for yourself.

It's decent. The 85% lower half length makes for very skinny "arrows" but that is not a problem, necessarily. It is likely a firecracker under bright lights and a nice performer in normal lighting.

Definitely above average. And yes, I'd anticipate that it is quite bright.

You've just gotten great expert advice! I'll just add that I don't love those skinny arrows, and it is pretty unusual to see lgf's over 80 around here. I'd probably look a little more and try to find the lgf's between 75-80. Of course, that 60% depth may make the stone face up larger for it's weight, so if size is more important, then that could trump shopping for lower lgf's.

I know I'm in the minority around here, but there's just WAY too much going on in the way of inclusions for my taste. I know I'd be able to see the shadows and reflection of that much stuff. But I know you're going for size over quality. The HCA scores it a 1.3 so it's likely to perform relatively well. If you're dropping to a J to gain some size, you might want to consider a stone with some fluorescence to offset the warmth a bit.

Just from the numbers, it looks good to me. Just make sure you have a good return policy and when you get it, if it looks beautiful to you, then you did great. If you think it looks too included, or just doesn't look right, return it. 2.15 is a VERY nice size diamond! That 60 depth is wonderful for giving the stone a nice spread. Good luck, I think you will be happy with this stone.

Thank you so much John, diamondseeker, Sandy, and hearts-arrow girl.

I have already gone through with the purchase so my fingers are crossed! Think I'm going to have a tough time sleeping until it arrives.

I am getting this diamond to match up to a current GIA stud that I have. The lgf on the one I have is 80%. Do you think the patterning will be noticeably different?

I know I should just wait and see but I can't!

Congrats on getting your new stone. I hope it is everything you want it to be. Post pics when you get it.

The diamond looks great! Thank you again so much for everyone's help and advice. PS and its members are the real gems :)

Congrats on getting your stone! Post pics when you get it into a setting! :appl:
