There are some pretty dangly earrings on the Lang site (I've been stalking them for a while  ).

Since you say you doubt what you're buying now will be your daily bling wardrobe, I'd go for more classic, forever pieces, which you could keep for a long time and pass onto your future children.

If I were you and I were looking for a "suite" for a wedding, these are what I'd get:

1) pair of studs, of about 1.2-1.5ct each, F-G-H colour, VS-Si1. I'd go for RB if you want max sparkles or antique/ antique-cut cushions for their sheer "divineness" (is that even a word, lol?!). That should set you back anywhere from $30-40k
2) pendant of 1.5-2ct each, again same range of colour and clarity, put it in a halo and/ or with DBTY necklace. Again, it should be anywhere between $25-40k.
3) a tennis bracelet or cuff like the one you posted, made up of RB diamonds. I wouldn't pay more than $20-30k for this.

Of course the higher the specs, the more you'd have to pay; in which case, you'd have to go smaller in size. You'd also have to decide if you want larger earrings, smaller pendant and/ or smaller bracelet or some other combination. The mix can vary obviously.

I'd budget about $10k for settings, but it could go up significantly depending on what you choose.

Voila, there goes the entire $100k! :)) :praise: .

Good luck with deciding. How fun! Come back and post your decisions and then pics. I can't wait to see them!! :appl:

I'd check out the "blue" range at BGD; they're slightly less expensive than their signature H&A range - and you could trust Brian with his eye & judgement. JA's prices are also quite reasonable.

As for settings, I'm biased and have had personal experience, so I'd say Leon. Steven Kirsch has also turned out some amazing pieces for some PS'ers lately!

I had another idea for earrings that way you can have something more diverse! How about getting some nice studs (estate or not) and have custom jackets made for them? Depending on if you have pearl earrings/etc you could have some diamond and pearl dangles, some all diamond dangles and then add them to the studs. That way you have classic earrings for daily wear but you can bling them up for any occasion :naughty:

HI:

I also love what Kwait has to offer. While in the Wynn Store at the Wynn Hotel last month--they had a Kwait bracelet--not unlike the one you originally posted and it was disocunted if memory serves......

Here is some Tiffany eyecandy...

Now that we have a little more info I would definitely go with the classics as Phoenix posted. These are timeless, "every woman should own one" type pieces. Since you have a cushion engagement ring, I would follow with a cushion set of:

1. Studs, I like cushion studs haloed =)
2. Heirloom Pendant, also haloed with a DBTY chain, or a more intricate necklace that falls nicely on your neckline.
3. Tennis bracelet - I liked the idea of getting a few of these, allowing you to wear them together or alone, depending on the occasion.

Since you have two weddings coming up, I would leave a couple K's for dangling earrings and a nice, intricate right-hand diamond band as well.

I personally would including some colored diamonds and gold in the mix - but that depends on taste and personality!!

I think you are living every girl's dreams right now!! ENJOY!!! :appl:

Ditto on getting a number of stackable tennis bracelets; I suspect you'd find them more versatile than an actual cuff since you could wear them separately, and you'd still get the serious sparkle factor. Plus I think they'd look amazing!

If you're really fine with something that you probably wouldn't wear much at all afterwards, hunting for a couple of amazing, elaborate antique pieces would be fun too- while gorgeous and made with workmanship that simply can't be duplicated today, some pieces along those lines would be difficult to wear for any but the most formal of occasions. Still. I'd be tempted, your money would probably go a bit farther. And for an occasion like your second wedding sounds like, it might be perfect. You could simply buy something immediately rather than waiting for it to be made, and it would be absolutely one of a kind.

Heck you could get an antique tiara now that you nixed the ring :naughty: . That would be freaking amazing for a wedding. Maybe one of the ones that converts from necklace to tiara?

Otherwise, if you want maximum flexibility and wearability, I'd definitely go for classic pieces: I'd think a DBTY necklace with detachable solitaire pendant (with or without a halo), that way you could use the DBTY necklace and/or the pendant separately for less formal occasions. A couple of tennis bracelets. Larger studs with jackets, or smaller studs with detachable larger pendant stones. Again those would both be convertable to a more casual piece of jewelry.

Another really amazing designer in your area is Victor Canera. He does truly handmade platinum jewelry and is FAST. As well as really sweet!

Thanks all again for the reply. On going with a jeweler to custom make the pieces, I like the Timeless Luxury look. but is there a premium price attached to going to a well known custom jeweler? I'm also based in Los Angeles so I can't visit this store in NY. I'd love to not pay too high a premium in going to a well known custom jeweler and instead concentrate on the diamonds..

I don't know if I wear any of them daily :( I'll probably more likely to wear the earring or bracelet once a month for some special event... As a background too.. I have two wedding receptions.. one in US , laid back , regular number of guests, and then another one in my home country, gigantic guests, more formal/elegant and these jewelries are really for the second wedding . Thus not sure if i can wear them daily.
Steven Kirsch has been working with my boyfriend who is also LA based to create my engagement ring and I can say its a pleasure working with him. Hes very easy to reach by phone and always responded to emails within a day. He doesnt have a showroom so the only pieces you would be able to see in person are designs he may be working on for other customers or a few custom pieces he may have for sale. I highly recommend him and would def give him a call ! :)

hm i didn't realize you are still looking to make your set! if you're based in LA, I really highly recommend you visit philip press in sunset blvd in hollywood. once we made up our minds about the design of my ring, which was completely custom made, it took him less than a month to make it i think. so the time line isn't really a problem. and though he's definitely not the 'cheapest', for the quality it's definitely a fair, market price i'd say. :) good luck~!!

Hi All

Thanks for your inputs! I have a lot of questions for you guys:
1. DBTY . I had to google to know what it is.... is it basically the necklace like this tiffany link I posted?
http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP01925&mcat=148210&cid=287465&search_params=s+5-p+7-c+287465-r+101323351+101424823-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+-k+

2. what is custom jacket for earring? I don't know what that means?

Here are the pieces I'm leaning towards:

the tiffany above with bigger pendant on necklace
a cuff diamond bracelet or this pieces from Martin Katz
http://www.martinkatz.com/jewelry/bracelets

earring: maybe something like this piece but with round diamond halo-ed
http://artofplatinum.com/vault/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1071&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1

thanks again on your input i'm contacting some of this jeweler you referred me to

i'm loving all the comments here.. so i didnt know i can do a diamond studs and do a detachable dangling diamonds to it??? mm.... good idea :) i'm currently wearing a 0.5 carat round diamond studs but dont mind an upgrade.. with the tennis bracelet a few of them on the hand, will it look like a cuff or a little messier? I need to try that out to have a better image on it...

thanks!

Hello again!
Jackets are things that your studs can be "inserted" into to give it a different look. There are all sorts of types but the most common I've seen is halo jackets (see link below) however you can have jackets that add a halo (and maybe even add a pearl dangle drop that has a mechanism that can make it easily added/removed). I've seen some (can't find pictures of them) where part of the earring actually opened and closed to allow it to be attached/removed. I've added links to other pictures (just for examples of different styles, like diamond dangles, etc) The examples I'm finding are pretty commercial compared to what you'd have made if you go custom by a higher end jeweler

Another nice example

I also believe that hoops can be made into jackets as well.

BTW if you want one of the most beautiful necklaces I've ever seen that is diamond (like a DBTY) here is a link to one that makes me swoon every time I see it. You could probably get a nice pendant made that slides on/off easily to dress it up/down too! http://www.langantiques.com/products/item/90-3-2910
