Hello, I am looking for an engagement diamond.

Here is what I am considering @ blue nile.

Bank wire price: $15,590
Price per carat: $9,310
Carat weight: 1.70
Cut: Signature Ideal
Color H
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 61.7%
Table %: 57%
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.64 x 7.67 x 4.72 mm

Is this a good deal for this diamond? if someone has a better diamond they can link me to for a better or similar price I would appreciate it. I have looked on price scope and some other sites but this seems to be the best price for diamond. I am not set on the carat size, meaning if theres a lower carat size but the diamond would look the same size via measurements that would be acceptable as well.

thank you for your help.

What are the specs you are looking for?

I am also considering this diamond which is very similar to the above also from BN.

Bank wire price: $15,554
Price per carat: $9,288
Carat weight: 1.70
Cut: Signature Ideal
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 61.8%
Table %: 55%
Symmetry: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Girdle: Medium, Faceted
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 7.66 x 7.69 x 4.74 mm

Here is the GIA cert for the diamond in the first post.

The GIA images of the second diamond seem cleaner but I would love to get some advice on this.

thank you again

As far as specs I would like a 1.5 or greater, at least an H color with a VS1 or better,EX polish and sym, with the best cut possible. Other than that I don''t really know? Basically I am just looking for the best quality/largest appearing diamond I can get for less than 16k

is there any reason for considering VS1 or better? Unlikely you will see anything at VS2 range anyway, especially if the vendor verify it is eye-clean?

Well, I just went with VS1 as a minimum because I did not want to compromise the quality of the diamond too much.

Do you have any thoughts on the Bluenile diamonds Ive posted or even the whiteflash posted by another forum member?

Thanks-

Can I see the GCAL report?

Sure here are the reports:

For the BN SI stones, I prefer the 1st one.

The WF stone looks good too.

Thank you, do you feel the blue nile stone is a good price? I am considering the WF stone as well, but under Fluorescence it states Negligible vs the blue nile states none.

Between the first and the blue nile diamond and the WF diamond is the blue nile diamond the higher quality diamond in terms of measurements, table/depth, etc.. ?

Thanks

I also found this one on WF.

http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/whiteflash-aca-cut-diamond-2245400.htm

if anyone could give me an opinion or advice on this WF diamond vs the first blue nile diamond in terms of the better quality ect.. I would really appreciate it.

AGS is of the opinion that all diamonds fluorescent to some extent even if we cannot detect it visually, that is why their minimum grade is negligible, there will never be a none on their grading report.

Between the BN SI and WF ACA, I would go with the WF stone because while both are sold as a H&A, thus the higher premium over similar specs stone, WF's claim is supported by the hearts image but not BN's claim. Also, WF has a buy back/trade up policy which BN does not have.

Thank you for your help stone cold, How concerned should I be about the crystal and needle blemishes indicated on the AGS report? The WF diamond has some markings on the top of the diamond while the BN diamond has less on the top but more blemishes on the underside.

At VS1 level, you will not likely to see any of the inclusions even with a 10X loupe.
