Hi all, I’d like some feedback to see if I’m going crazy .

I bought my first lab diamond piece last week. I’m very familiar with natural diamonds. It’s an east west half eternity band of baguettes totaling 0.75 tcw. I loved it in store and bought it without thinking much for $3300. They quoted me $5500 for the natural version.

Looking back, the pricing sounded crazy to me, so I went to their website. My version isn’t there, but they have a full eternity of the same baguette setting that is 2 tcw. That natural version is $4750. Lab pricing not there. This seems much more in line with what I’d expect.

I wrote to them saying im fairly certain there’s been a mistake bc there’s no way 0.75 total of lab baguettes is worth $3300. Or even natural stones. Also, the insurance appraisal they sent came back at 3900.

They wrote back saying “the price on the website is likely incorrect and we’re working on updating it. Let us know if you have any other questions.”

This is a store in Chicago recommended to me on this site.

Thoughts? Worth arguing this or is there any way it’s correct? Seems way off.

Photo attached for reference. Diamonds only on top half.

Thanks guys!

Maybe it's just me, but I can fathom paying $3300 for a lab ring of .75 ctw. Perhaps if it were created by a master out of platinum
(Leon Mege, V. Canara, etc.).

Can you provide a link to the full eternity?

Can you return the .75 ctw? I would get a quote from DK and see what his prices are.

I should add it’s 14k yellow gold

Here’s the 2 ct. one. They just updated the price from 4750 to 7900. It’s not made by a designer or a branded ring. Bought it out of the case.

Anyway, that’s why I’m asking for opinions. I’ll just be more thoughtful next time!

And here’s the 3.85 ct for 5500. How does 0.75 ct for 3300 make sense? Maybe lab prices are all over the place?

Tried to contact the woman I worked with who sold it to me, but she’s too “bogged down” :)

I have 30 days exchange for store credit.
Live and learn I guess!

In small melee sizes the lab vs natural rough cost is not dramatic... over .25 ct stones you start to see a gap... You are mostly looking at labor and materials,,,,
Yes LGD prices are a bit weird... holdover from when they were more $ expensive ~ not all retailers are at the same place these days... some are retailing low $ reflecting wholesale costs and some (esp Brick and mortar) need more profit and selling @ multiple times cost to cover $ overhead..

btw: is that a Muzo ? It's Very nice !!!!

Thank you! I just got it and it’s my first colored stone! It’s from Columbia and the color is “muzo green” on the certificate, but I’m not sure if it’s from that particular mine. It absolutely glows! It’s definitely an attention getter. Had someone ask me in a restaurant to take a pic to show her family!
