Hi.

Just discovered this forum and it looks like an amazing resource.

I have been engagement ring shopping for the past month or so. I live in NYC and have been working with a reputable person in the diamond district who has successfully assisted several of my work colleagues in the past.

I am very close to buying the stone below and I wanted to see what people on the board think.

Here are the stats:

Round Brilliant
Measurements: 7.58 - 7.64 x 4.72 mm

Carat Weight: 1.70 carat
Color Grade: G
Clarity Grade: VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent

Proportions:
Depth: 62.0%
Table: 58%
Crown Angle: 35.0°
Crown Height: 15.0%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8°
Pavilion Depth: 43.0%
Star length: 45%
Lower Half: 80%
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted
Culet: None

Finish:
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

The price of the diamond is $16.4K. Is this a fair price for this stone?

I also have a few other questions:

1. I was under the impression that Cut, Symmetry and Polish should all be excellent to achieve maximum fire and brilliance which is very important to me. Should I be concerned that the polish is only Very Good?

2. From what I read the ideal table % is 52.4-57.5 and this one is just outside of this range. Is this a concern as well?

3. Are there are other factors that stand out here that I should be concerned with?

I am trying make a decision today so any guidance you could provide me with would be huge.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Looks promising from the numbers. No observable difference between Ex and VG in polish without training and equipment.

Am I ok price-wise as well?

Any additional comments from others would be greatly appreciated.
