Need some feedback regarding this diamond price.

I've been dealing with a local jeweler whom has found me a diamond with the following measurements. The price i was quoted is 7600USD.

I'd appreciate any feed back as to whether this is a fair price?

depth=59.5
table=58
crown angle=32.5
pavillion=41.0
culet %=none


.92round/f/vs2/excellent polish/vg symmetry(GIA)/medium to slightly think girdle

Hi alpha, welcome. It seems a little pricey. The most expensive 0.92/F/VS2 I could find using the Pricescope search function was $5903.

Are there any suggested guide lines as to how much more a brick and mortar store should charge for a diamond?
I know the have overheard etc, so paying a bit more is fair.

But what is fair?

well, as you can get an excellent cut D VVS2 .91ct Excellent cut in the AGS0 range for 1,200 dollars less I would say that is way too much for you to pay.

That''s a tough question. I frequently get scolded for being too generous by my wife who loves to bargain shop. I guess it depends on how willing you are to go the online route. And there is something to be said for having a good relationship with a B&M. One way you could approach it is to tell them you''ve been comparison shopping and ask them for their best price. I wouldn''t necessarilly say online because some B&Ms really lose it when you say that.

This isn''t a branded stone you are looking at is it? Could be another reason for the higher markup.

The stone is not a name brand. I ran it through HCA, and it scored a .7.
