i have a used setting i want to sell and someone is interested in it. i need to name a price so i wanted some opinions on what is fair, as i really have no clue at all.

its a 1 year old platinum setting by Vatche. I was thinking something like 65% of what I payed. is this reasonable? or far off? should i ask for 25% or 75%?

thanks!

I think 1/2 is reasonable, but that''s purely a gut reaction. If I were buying a used setting--even if only a year old--1/2 would seem like a good enough deal to offset the used factor. Others may feel differently.

Which style is it & what is the current condition/state? These may factor into your decision.

its an x-prong (so its a popular style) and its in quite good condition (i would probably get it polished also).

Whatever you do - do not polish out the vatche mark. It may walk like a duck, talk like a duck - but without that signature isn''t a duck (to the general public).

Also, what size head? Is it a popular size head? Is it a popular finger size?

All factors into the equation. But, like Hest - I can only go for my gut. If the questions above are answered yes - then I would say 50-65%. Don''t think most people will bite at 75%. And, make that number based on the lower price (though it''s pretty price fixed) you find & not solely on retail.

Best of luck. With things like this - it takes two. Person selling/Person looking.
