Hello All,

I have not seen it in person but it looks good to me on paper. From the measurements, it should appear fairly large for its size. What does everyone think? Is the girdle range too wide? Anything look suspicious? It was offered to me for $9950. Sound like an okay deal?

If definitely has potential. Personally, I''d like it a little better if the pavillion angle was a little more cherry picked, but this may be hairsplitting. Also, you can save quite a bit of money if you drop in clarity. There is basically no visible difference between a VVS2 and a VS2, and there are also many eye-clean SI''s out there. You could drop in color if you wanted too.

You can check the relative value with a Pricescope search. The numbers all look very good with the exception of the range of girdle thickness. Even that may prove a non-issue.

Thanks for the feedback. I was in the market for a clean vs2 when I came across this. Sounds like the extra cash for a VVS2 is not worth it for what I am looking for. The search continues...

Thanks Again

How does this VS1 compare? It is $700 less but the old AGS cert format (even though graded in 2006) so it does not have the light performance score.

This second one is a *tad* deep. It doesn''t seem to be affecting performance much and other aspects of the cut are looking good, but your diamond will face up slightly smaller than other diamonds of the same carat weight.

Would you consider an H/VS2? The color difference betwenn a g and an h is very difficult to notice with the naked eye. This one has a really nice spread and good numbers (although I''d like it if the 35.0 was a 34.9...but this is hairsplitting).

The range of girdle thickness is definitely a non-issue. In the new format of AGS-reports, AGS reports the minimum and maximum girdle thickness, so one figure is the lowest valley and the other figure is the highest hill.

Since they are probably the only lab to report girdle thickness in this way, it might be confusing, but it is nothing to worry about.

Live long,

Thanks very much for all the advice. I''m leaning towards #2 myself.
