Hi. I''m new and need some expert help. I am looking at a stone and thinking about purchasing it. Here are the specs. This ia a ''fatter'' emerald cut with 10 extra Facets. I don''t know if it is a branded cut or special kind. It definately has more flash and sparkle than a traditional EC. The cost of the stone is $10,398.00. I thank you and appreciate any advice you can give. - PGK

Is this an EGL-certificate?
I think that the table is too large...

PGK, I would go for quality.
Your stone seems not to be the best.

Girdle: Thin
Culet: Small

If you are looking for more sparkle than a traditional emerald cut, you should check out the "spring cut" diamonds on whiteflash.com.

Good luck!

From the data you posted, it seems to be EGL Israel, which is consistently off by two grades. Do you really want a J/VS 2?

Also, the table is OUTRANGEOUSLY large. Yo'd better look for tables in the mid 60's for the very best look.

Thank you for the advice. I was wondering if you know if whiteflash.com or any other online jeweler who would take a stone that was not purchased from them as a trade-in towards an upgraded stone.

Thanks Again

I don't think that an online jeweler will accept the stone you didn't buy from him. The best that can happen, is that he will list it for you on his internet page and give you the money when the diamond is sold.
