Hey everyone,
This is my first post so please be kind.
I''ve been searching this site and I''m so impressed with the level of knowledge here but also a bit intimidated.
My boyfriend is going to see a friend''s father who''s an importer here in NY to purchase a diamond. We''ve looked at Tiffany''s and he was pretty set on buying the stone there until I convinced him that we could get something just as beautiful and sparkly for less money. So, here''s my task: provide him with a set of guidelines that he can use to buy an Ideal Cut stone that will be just as beautiful as T & Co. I would love to provide him with a list of things, such as Table %, Depth %, mm range (eg. a 2ct stone should be 8.0 mm?), etc.
Does anyone have anything similiar that''s handy? I''ve been trying to craft something but there are so many places and different sources of info. This seemed like something one of you might have already available to beginners like myself. If I''m supposed to be looking somewhere else on this site please let me know.
If it helps, we''re looking at stones in the 2.0 - 2.5 carat range.
Thanks so much in advance!
Best,
Josie
