Ok, so now that I''m engaged, I need to think about my own ring. We''re going to have Mark Morrell do our wedding set since he did the ER, but I''d like some community input. I''m thinking of having mine bezel set with a small center stone. I don''t want to go with a RB, since it''s not exactly the manliest shape. I was thinking of an asscher, but I don''t know if and where I''ll be able to find a decent one that''s small enough to not look overly foppish. I have plenty of time to look (we''re not even sure when he''ll be accepting new jobs and the wedding isn''t until August 2010) Any advice?

Beat me to it! There are some really awesome men''s rings in that thread.

I''ve put some thought into this myself recently. Right now I am leaning to a two tone rose and white gold band with no diamonds. However, if I were to have a stone in my ring, I would definately prefer a trillion cut. I love the geometric shape of these diamonds.

I kind of toyed with designs in my head of a rose/white gold ring with a center trillion cut and two smaller princess cuts on either side mounted with the corners NSEW. All would be flush set.

yep, there are some really neat looking ring,

As far as a manly looking ring, I really like step cuts so Asschers and Emerald Cuts are ones I would vote for, However, if you have RBs with a geometric shaped outline, I think would also look manly ish.

Some nice stuff over there. I guess my main issue is where and how am I supposed to find an asscher that''s small enough. For example, the smallest one at GOG is 3/4 ct. I was thinking around 1/4 ct and no bigger than 1/3. anyone know any good sources (cut quality is my biggest concern here).

asschers faces up quite small to begin with, do you know what dimensions you are looking for?

About 4mm square, probably no bigger than that. I''m looking for an exclamation point to add to the ring - not for the diamond to be the main focus.
