I am new here.. so, please forgive me if I am posing a wrong question here.
Me and my fiancee would like to buy a ring that we liked for HIM from the following jeweler and since we are very novice about diamonds, we are planning to get it appraised, as most of the postings in this board suggested.
1) The jeweler is General Diamonds in 550 South Hill st in LA JD - are they reputed - has anyone have any experience with them?
2) the wedding band is F VS1 platinum with 3 stones totaling .33 CT princess cut for about $2200 - is this a rip off price?
3) We didn''t ask about the depth or the type of Cut - how important are these?
4) Should we ask for a GIA certificate - does the jeweler normally give out a certificate for three small stones?
5) I will appreciate any recommendation for a good appraiser
