I have never posted on here before and now I need some information. I have several pieces of Tanzanite of very high quality. Pieces range from 35.14 Oval Modified Brilliant 21.64 x 17.70 x 11.86 mm, 25.75 Carat Tanzanite Tennis Bracelet Cushioned Modified Brilliant both bluish violet with flashes of red (or what i call a brilliant magenta) to several other smaler. The smaller include two rings 5 carat and aprox 4 carat (with smaller aprox 1/4 carat on each side). Both high quality tanzanite. I have a very beautiful high quality 2 carat pendant and 2 pair of earrings. I am interested in selling part or all of it. This is due to my health. I need to move to a warmer climate during the winter and at present I live in Western NY. Please pm me if you have any information for me.

Thank you so much,
Bonnie B

Sorry but we are not allowed to sell here and Pricscope has no is no PM feature.
You can't even post your email address or phone number here.
Pricescope does not want to turn into a flea market, and wants no liability for transactions that go bad, or worse.

You can list your stones for sale elsewhere, like loupetroop or diamondbistro, and post a link to that listing on Pricescope's "Preloved Jewelry Forum": https://www.pricescope.com/forum/preloved-ps-jewels/

Good luck with your sale, move and health.

Thank you for the information. I was not trying to sell on here, just trying to get info on where would be a good place to start. I listed some as example of what I was thinking of selling. The info is much appreciated.

Do you have pictures? Where did you originally buy the stones from?

There are various places you could potentially go to sell items, but it really depends on the quality of what you have and what you want for it. So, the more information the better!

Welcome Bonnie! I'm sorry you have to sell for your move/health - I hope everything works out for you in short order.

A bit more help about your jewelry: photos would really help as well as your description of them - that is, are they super high end, custom or more like chain store pieces? What is the metal and what quality level are any accent diamonds? In general, the best prices are garnered by private sales to friends/interested parties that you may know, then private sales on sites such as Loupetroop, and DiamondBistro, and ebay (though I would be too scared to sell there), then likely consignment, auction house (if its truly excellent quality), and finally jewelry brokers. I don't know if you have lab reports for your pieces, but it will be easier to sell - and command better pricing - if you have lab reports from a reputable lab like AGL or GIA. ( Note that appraisals are not the same as lab reports and are not given the same level of credibility or value.) The key hitch you may run into is that its tanzanite, which has seemingly decreased in value for some years now and may finally be headed back up a bit. Please come back and tell us more and share photos as FrekeChild has recommended. From there, we could offer better guidance. Good luck!

Well, I uploaded a bunch of pictures of my Tanzanite. I had a bit of a time of it. I wish I had better lighting and better pictures. All my Tanzanite is of high quality. I am not sure how to show them as I had to put them on my page. My internet does not work well and I think the storm made it worse. I bought my tanzanite from very reputable places not in this country. The tanzanite that I do not have papers on has been approved before purchase by reputable person. I always require a 2nd opinion per say before I have bought any pieces. I never put emphasis on the metal, just the gem when I am looking at gems. It is very easy if I wish to incorporate the gem into a piece of jewelry. I wish the jeweler we used to have in the area was still with us. He passed away and created amazing pieces. My birthstone is sapphire and I prefer tanzanite over it. I just the looks of it.

Thanks for all the info and if you can take a peak at what I have.

Sorry - have no idea where the photos are? Unfortunately, you knowing that you bought "high quality" and from "a reputable source" doesn't do a lot to put the buyer at ease. :(sad This is why some documented proof of what you have is typically necessary, especially for high end goods.

Do you have any updated valuation on your collection? It appears that any verification was done years ago and tanzanite pricing has gone up and down worse than a roller coaster ride.

1. Where are the pictures uploaded? We do not know where your "page" is.

2. Who determined the tanzanite to be of high quality? Please do not take offense to my question because I see this as a valid question that a prospective buyer will ask. Buying outside of the US isn't a roadblock but not having a lab report might be. The problem with a "reputable person" is that not everyone knows who he/she is and in the buyer's eyes, it means little to nothing if the the buyer isn't familiar with that person.

If you can link to your page (if you uploaded the pictures to a place other than pricescope), that would be really helpful :)

The image uploader/library here can be a little confusing, but if that's what you used, post as normal (hit reply on this thread) and right above the area where you are writing, a bit to the right, you'll see "Insert" with four boxes underneath. Click the one on the left to insert an image. Clicking it will bring up your image control panel and you can select your picture there.

If you did not upload the pictures to pricescope and they're on another site, just paste the url into your post.

Alternatively, if you're having trouble with all this, you can email me and I'll put them up for you - if that's how you want to do it, reply back on here and let me know.

Thank you so much for the help! For some reason it has been terribly difficult to upload pictures. I think partly because my internet was breaking up and is slow. Frustrating because it takes so long. These are pictures I took yesterday. I'm afraid they are not very good. Wish I could do better.
Also here is the link to my page on here , if you can get to it- http://www.pricescope.com/icp
Yes, I know Tanzanite has gone up and down. I also know the situation of the mines and that it is the only place that there is any Tanzanite. Once gone it is gone. So far no one knows how to create fake tanzanite either. I also know the bigger, the deeper bluish violet, hints of red there. is the better the gem. Its all about the color and size. This is not chain store Tanzanite. I have never bought Tanzanite in this country. I have also bought with a person at my side who has been to the mines. Personally, it is just my favorite gem.

Oh, how beautiful!

Wow those pieces look amazing!

Lovely! I'm sorry to hear about your health and move, but good luck with the sale. Those pieces are so pretty, and I don't imagine they'll sit long.

Awe, thank you everyone!'

This is my 5 carat ring, 2 carat pendent and a pair of my earrings I have. These pictures are not the best.

Hi Bonnie :), two things

1. You need to post your items for sale in the preloved forum
2. Your links don't work, so when you make your new listing, try to re post your pictures and descriptions as well as a fresh link (not a link from your account page)

Best of luck!

I'll go a bit farther and say that you are not allowed to post links to your jewelry for sale here. The only place you are allowed to promote your jewelry is the Preloved forum.
