Need Help With Princess Cut Purchase

First of all, I want to thank everything for the extremely useful information that this forum has provided for me in the past month or so. I am purchasing a princess cut for my wife as an upgrade and I would not know nearly as much about diamonds as I now do if it weren''t for you all. I think I''ve narrowed my search down to two diamonds. The links are shown below. I''m sorry about the links but my wife''s watching tv in the other room and I don''t have time to write down all the info about each (afraid she''ll walk in if I don''t do this quick).

Now the only reason I''m not sure is because I''ve become hung up on getting an AGS 000 diamond. So, I guess my question is, is it healthy to be thinking this? I mean, after all, the one from james allen is a G, VVS1. But, it''s from GIA. The one from Whiteflash is an AGS 000, but it''s a G, VS1. What to do? What would you all do? I ask because I value your opinion. Thank you so much. Oh, and the first one says "no longer available" because I have a hold on it. Thanks.

I''d go for cut over clarity any day. I''m not sure if it''s just how they look in the pictures as opposed to real life, but I definitely like the pic of the AGS stone much better. Plus, you really can''t go wrong with ACAs (my princess is an ACA and I love it)!

oh my- it's certainly a toss-up between those two beauties!

i hear what you're saying about wanting an AGS 000 stone, but a GIA stone is nothing to sneeze at, especially the one you've picked out! it is a taad bit larger than the WF stone, and the numbers look good. i just wish I could view an ideal-scope image to get a feel for it's light performance!

so is it on it's way to you? you'll know if it's "the one" when you see it. fancies are tricky and need to be seen in person.

back to the GIA vs. AGS "thing", my princess is a GIA- purchased before AGS came out with their 000-graded princesses, and WF introduced their ACA princesses. it may not be super-ideal, but it sparkles like crazy and is a true performer. Brian at WF gave it his stamp of approval, so that was more than good enough for me.

Well, I haven''t actually purchased the one that''s on hold. However, I am only allowed to hold it for 24 hours. I really want an AGS 000 but it seems that Whiteflash is the only vendor, other than USACerted, to carry them. Am I wrong or are there other vendors? And, USACerted is on vacation until Sept. 4th. The proportions on the GIA look awesome though. But, I too would like to see some ideal-scope and aset images. I''m just concerned that the Whiteflash one will look a lot smaller than the GIA one because it''s dimensions are smaller. Oh, what to do?

Though a WF fan...(and I actually didn''t know USA Certed even carried these)...it seems lots of vendors do.

For example...find on the search by cut db...this one from G0G.

Find at Excel this one.

I haven''t even looked at Blue Nile, which usually have a lot (where you should remember to ignore their internal rating scheme).

And, Paul at Infinity has been known to sell some through his vendors, broadly dispersed, but found here, that will knock your socks off.

Sorry to offer choices, and support for the AGS0, but I''m with you on aiming for this.
