Howdy folks,
been awhile since Ive posted as the ring I purchased is on her finger- she still gets compliments daily, so I''m happy with my choice (Round 1.25 Ideal,VS1,H).
But, now with the wedding only 40 days away(!!), she has changed her mind on the wedding band. The e-ring is set in a 6 prong Tiff style plat solitaire band with a bit of a knife edge, and initially she wanted a small plain plat band to match. But once she tried it on- she no likey. What she did like was the eternity style bands with the diamonds either channel or indiv prong set.
So- any suggestions as to vendors, and what to look for? Ive been told that with stones of this size- Totalcw approx .4-.6, that a cert is not possible. But, obviously I''d like to find a band that compliments the specs of the solitaire, but not overpower it. Oh- and the budget is around 1K.
Two rings that she liked were the Scott kay(obviously) but she, nor I, prefer not to pay for a name or blue box, for that matter...
Ideas?
many thanks.

and here's number two- we both liked the indiv setting look- how the metal wrapped around each stone. But how does this effect the strength of the band and would it be more at risk of losing stones?

Hello Deanb,

I have always loved eternity bands and have been looking for the right one myself. Recently, someone suggested www.costco.com and I checked them out. They show a few styles in both platinum and gold, but I don't know about their quality. The site says that all diamonds are VS2/I or better, but that is as far as it goes. I really like the shared-prong style, but I'm personally looking for something a little wider. My husband and I love the 5.0 mm fancy diamond eternity band, but I have never seen anything like this anyplace where I can see it in person. I am going to call to the Costco stores within driving distance to see if any of them have it. My ering is an E color so the color is an issue for me, and I'll probably end up having something made custom.

Also, has your fiance ever tried on an eternity band? I've read that the bulk on the sides between the fingers can be annoying. I've seen some eternity rings set low and some higher. I hope that someone out there who owns one responds to this. I'm wondering if this bulk is something I'll get used to or will it be annoying enough that I might regret having stones all the way around.

Both Affinity and Blue Nile have some eternity bands in your price range (more or less):
