i have a 2 carat round brilliant, approx I in color, highest quality cut, VS1, and a good amount of blue fluorescence.....i am buying from a friend, so i am not worried about him, but i want to know what to do about this stone.....it is beautiful and sparkly in all light, but of course in sunlight, or powerful UV lights, it gets light lavender or a pretty deep blue.....doesnt appear to get cloudy or milky, but i have been staring at it for a week now.....it is amazing how brilliant the diamond is, esp for a lesser color of "I"......i am not bound to this diamond, so i am leary of what my fiance to be may think of the "blue" that most people have any idea what it is.....i am getting a good deal, but am willing to pay extra if needed.....it is set in white gold as well......WHAT TO DO??!!!

As long as it doesn''t look milky I think it sounds lovely.

i know it is a preference thing, but when i showed it to my mother and sister, they were both amazed how good it looked, then we went out into the sunlight, and they were staring at it speechless.....they had never seen a diamond turn blue like that before.....they said, no way, take it back at first, but once i explained the fluorescence, they didnt know what to think......

i am spending far too much time worrying about it i am sure, but i know i am not alone......

Hi Bradford
Strong blue fluorescence in an I color is usually a big advantage, its is actually rare to find a fluorescing diamond where the fluorescence effects the transparency. Commercially the market pays a premium for “I” color with fluorescence.

I would definitely love to have such a unique (and huge!!) diamond. I would thoroughly check out the cut (get sarin data) but it sounds like a winner to me.
