Need help with choosing a diamond with more fire

We just bought what we thought was a good 3E GIA diamond (1.24ct J VVS2 Strong Blue Fluorescence) with HCA score of 1 with below proportions. When it came in the diamond was very bright but fire was missing? Then I saw the forum post for fire vs. brightness balance and we are thinking of returning and ordering another diamond

Will the below 3E GIA (1.3ct J VVS2 Med Blue Fluorescence) diamond with HCA score 1.2 have more fire? Which factor would be most important below?

Both of those diamonds fall into the 60/60 category. The table and the depth are similar and close to 60%. Those diamonds generally favor brightness whereas a diamond in the Ideal cut range have a better balance of brightness and fire.
Try looking for a diamond in the following parameters:
Table 54 - 57
Crown 34 - 35
Pavilion 40.6 - 40.9

I am posting this as an example - look at the videos for sparkle and brillance.

To build upon what MGR stated above, you can play it even safer when selecting a diamond that will exhibit more fire by really tightening down the criteria and sticking with the following:

Pavilion angle: 40.6°
Crown angle: 35-35.5°
Table width: 54-57%
LGF: 75-76%

Try an Old European cut, an old mine cut, an August Vintage round, or an August Vintage cushion (basically specialty versions of the oec/omc). Search for them on these forums. There are lots of posts.

It's probably the lighting.
No diamond has fire in soft even lighting.

Diamond fire comes from pointed light sources, such as relatively small lights in the ceiling.

You’ll see good diamond fire on a sunny day under a tree that lets through small shafts of light.
Elevators with tiny halogen lights in the ceiling are my favorite.

Based on the suggested inputs I found two stones, checking if one of them is any better vs. other?

Stone 1: Price $7100
1.34ct, J VS1 GIA 3E, no fluorescence. The cut characteristics seem closest to the recommendation, also slightly larger size 7.07mm wide

Stone 2: $6500
1.3ct, J VVS2 GIA 3E, no fluorescence. This stone has very similar cut but with better clarity, LGF at 80% (vs. 75% for stone 1) but 6.99mm wide.
