Hi there!

I’m new here. I’ve recently discovered this site and learnt so much already.
So, I’m trying to get my ring custom made and since my abstract vision isn’t great, I have some problems trying to visualize CAD rendering.

I attach the pictures of the ring I love and the CAD I received. Something with baguette side details feels wrong to me and I can’t point it out.

I have found a ring in my seller’s shop where baguette details are set exactly the way I’d like to see it on my ring. Using Photoshop I tried to incorporate them into my ring.

I sent a lot of pictures and comments to the seller, and she is telling me that the ring will look exactly the same. Still, I’m not convinced.

Could you please take a look at the CAD and see if I need to change something. I’ll be deeply grateful for any help.

Thanks a lot!

To me it looks like the bars holding the baguettes are too wide, they need to be minimized more. And there's a taper on the shank with pave that isn't in your inspiration ring. Those two things changed and I think you're pretty close, at least from my limited CAD reading skills.

You have posted several pictures of rings. Would help if you comment which ring was actually the one you wanted your CADs to be like.

Have you experienced a 1.4mm shank solitaire in real life?
It's pretty darn skinny.

I may be misunderstanding you, but as I see it the cad shows extra vertical metal on either side of the bag, compared to the inspo pic.
the bag setting in the CAD difference to the inspiration pic may just be rectified during polish/setting/finish, just like any other prong representation.

Thank you very much for your insight!

Pictures 2,3,4,5 represent my inspiration ring. Thanks to another forum, I have already reconsidered the width and thickness of the ring and decided to go for 1.8mm instead of 1.4mm. Don’t want to worry about side stones falling out.

I have one more concern now, regarding the center stone. It’s 5.5mm diamond and I wanted the thinnest possible bezel (enough to support the stone) and I wonder if the bezel in my CAD is a little thick?
Is it okay that 5.5mm stone turns into 6.7mm total with bezel? It makes the bezel 1.2mm thick..
I’m a little hung up on that, because my finger size is really small (3,5 US) and I’d like the center stone to be dainty and 5.5mm looks great on me, but 6.7mm.....
I thought about changing the stone to 5mm, but if that doesn’t affect the bezel in size, then maybe there is no point in that. I don’t know much about how the bezels are made, but if the stone is smaller, the bezel size is also going to change?

Thank you very much for your opinions. I really appreciate it!

In pic #3 the baguettes are tapered so the puter bars are smaller. The bars look wider than the stone in the cad. They may be planning to polish these down, I'd ask about thay. Same with the bezel. Cads often look clunkier/thicker than the end product.
