I've been a long time lurker and have learned everything I know from this forum. I really appreciate everyone's time spent on here as it has been very valuable in my search.

Diamond:
2 Ct
Color: I or better
Clarity: SI2 or better (Eye-clean)
Cut: Ideal, maybe even Very good.

I know that's a pretty tight parameters. I had been looking at RB's but she really wants a Princess stone. I'm not too worried about an EGL stone as long I prepare for that. If I was to get an EGL I'd want it to be a E or F with a VS2 or SI1, or even a SI2 that was eye-clean.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gideon

I favor the Whiteflash 1.74 over the JA 1.79, the WF one actually facing up a bit more.

And of the 2-cters, I like the 2.01 I from JA. The real size difference between the 1.74 and the 2.01 I will be just slightly noticeable, but not significantly so.

It's tight but it's doable, being that you're lenient with your color and clarity choices. If you're willing to sacrifice, a good choice for you would be to go just a little under the 2ct mark, where in a well cut stone, it will face up close to a 2 ct size, while saving you the premium that comes with it.

yeah I guess it just depends if you want to know you have a 2 ct or not...

So far I think the 1.74 from whiteflash is the best, but if you really want a 2ct stone- then request ASET images from james allen.

JA gives you up to 3 ASETs, so choose wisely!

I would ask for one on this stone, if you're ok with it being a bit off-square:

...in addition to this one that slg suggested (also make sure it's eye-clean):

...and this one, which is 1.91 but faces up larger than the other 2 (see the measurements):

ETA: If you inquire about the 3rd one, ask where the girdle is very thin and whether it could be a breakage risk. But the cut really caught my eye...even though the table is greater than the depth. Goes to show you that princess cuts simply can't be judged by numbers.
