I am looking for a princess cut diamond around 1.00 ct and around $2500-3000. I understand what I am looking at when I look at the color and clarity, however I don't know what to else to look at to determine which diamond is better.

I think I would like to get and SI1, maybe an SI2(how bad are SI2's?) aruond an H in color because I had a couple of jewelers tell me that those would be good diamonds if you are looking to stay in a lower dollar amount.

I am getting thrown off when I look at diamonds as to what I should look at as far as the cut.

There are a couple of diamonds on pricescope that I am looking at. Any suggestions?

Are any of these a good deal? If not what is wrong with these diamonds. I am not sure what to look for as far as depth and TBL and measurements. I have read the tutorial on pricescope but a lot of it just isn't making sense.

When I say good I mean as far as for a younger guy just trying to get a diamond for a good price that looks good to the naked eye.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

Easiest way to get princesses is to sort by the lab issuing a grading report. Look for an AGS ideal.

An H SI2 AGS will probably run more around 3500-4000...

SI2 sometimes are not eye-clean, so you have to check that. Also ask if there are durability issues, or if it's cloudy.

Since your budget is limiting your options, you'll probably have to look at GIA stones. There's just more stones to sift through...

There is a 1 ct K SI2 AGS 0 for around 2600...

Any diamond buying, ask for pictures of the stone.

And the Angara stone?

The measurements are WHACK: 8.35 x 5.60 x 3.97 mm

Maybe this one...

Otherwise, agree with JulieN, targeting AGS0 is peculiarly helpful...and there''s a biggish gap for what''s presenting readily on this board between about $2500 and $3700.
