Need help picking a diamond wedding band!

Hello there!

I started a thread a few weeks ago asking for opinions picking between a 2mm, 2.5mm, and 3mm plain platinum band to pair with my 0.55 carat Tiffany and Co. Lucida solitare. I'm happy to report that I settled on the 2.5mm Cartier platinum band and am super happy with my choice!

But now, I'm back for some advice on how best to pair my set with a diamond band as well. I'm super lucky in that my fiancé is able to buy me both bands now at the beginning of our marriage, so I am just planning to treat them both as wedding bands! And I'm looking forward to being able to mix and match all 3 rings depending on the occasion.

The three rings I'm trying to pick between are all from Tiffanys:

1) 2mm full eternity Novo band: tcw .36, approximate weight of each diamond: .014
2) 2mm full eternity channel set band: tcw .40, approximate weight of each diamond: .01
3) 2.5mm full eternity channel set band: tcw .52, approximate weight of each diamond: .016

Technically, the 2.5mm channel set ring should be the best match if I'm trying to have all three shanks be the same mm width. But part of me likes the really delicate look of the tiny diamonds in the 2mm channel set. I also haven't decided if I will wear the diamond band in the middle or on top of my ering. Which way do you think looks better?

I like the 2mm novo but the diamonds may eat into your wedding band/ering some. The 2mm channel would be nice too and
not eat into other rings.

Visually and to protect the other bands, I like the 2mm channel set in the middle. It is very pretty and add just a touch without looking matchy matchy. I do not like a solitaire sandwiched between bands.

I like the 2mm channel set band the best. It looks great with your other rings and won't scratch up the other bands.

Hi,

I would suggest either the 2mm 'Novo' or the 2mm 'Channel' - they look more balanced with your engagement ring over the 2.5mm wide band. If you are after just that touch more security and a design that will protect against scratches etc then go with the channel.

Oh yay, you came back.. I remember when you first posted when you got your e-ring. I really like your choice of the 2.5mm for the plain band for your e-ring. For wearing it alone or with your e-ring, I think that width looks best.

In regards to your diamond band, I would go for the channel 2mm if you will always wear it stacked with the plain band. I'd choose the 2.5mm if you think you will wear it w/o the plain band at times.

I also have a Lucida e-ring and have a 2mm channel and a 2.2mm channel (I'm not sure if they sell this size anymore). I find the 2mm to be a bit too thin for my liking to ever wear that alone.

Thanks to all who weighed in when helping me pick a mm width for my diamond band. I ultimately went with the 2.5mm channel set. I have this thing with visual symmetry and I wanted the mm width of all my rings to be as close of a perfect match as possible... I've been married a little over a year now and I still love my rings and am so happy I went with the channel set band because it still looks basically brand new! I thought I would post some ring **** pictures of my whole set.
