Hey Pricescopers!

I need the help and advice from people who are far more experienced than I am when it comes to the bling.

I know for certain that I want to order a channel set 3/4 eternity band from The Facets Collection for my wedding band. I was all set to go with this band: http://www.thefacetscollection.com/product-p/f892s.htm... Then I started worrying about it overpowering my 1 carat round brilliant solitaire with the 2.5 pointers it has.

Here are the other two bands that I'm considering:

1. http://www.thefacetscollection.com/product-p/f1428s.htm

2. http://www.thefacetscollection.com/product-p/f3345s.htm

I'm so torn between all 3 bands right now. I want to be able to wear the wedding band solo sometimes, so that's also a consideration and the main reason I wanted to get the 2.7mm band with the .75 carat weight to begin with. My 1 carat solitaire has a 2.5mm comfort fit platinum band, so I'm looking for a band that will match up fairly well. I only started considering the princess cut one because I thought that maybe it would cool and different to have the princess cut diamonds to contrast with the round brilliant solitaire.

Help!!! I absolutely need to place this order within the next day or so for the band because Facets will need 3-4 weeks and my wedding is the first week of April. Please give me your recommendation as to which band I should choose because I'm getting to the point where i'm ready to flip a coin (which is a terrible way to decide on a band).

The difference of .2 mm is pretty slight so I don't think it's going to look totally different either way. Have you tried on bands with your ring? I personally would skip the princess cut one because I don't really care for them. Have you got a picture of your engagement ring?

Hi MJG,

I tried the 2.5mm channel set band on at Tiffany's because I thought that band would be the closest to The Facets band because it has a lower profile. I liked the band and my only concern was that it was maybe just a little too dainty for me, so that's why I'm considering the 2.7mm band with the 2.5 pointers and .75 carat weight instead.

I've attached a ring pic below. Let me know your thoughts on whether the 2.5mm or the 2.7mm channel set band with the rounds would work best-thank you!!!

I'd go for the 2.5mm band. I prefer bands to not be winder than the band of the e-ring, and 2.5mm will be plenty sturdy. I too don't really care for princess cuts, but I do like carre cuts or baguettes if you like a more vintage feel.

Id get the width that matches your shank if possible, or just a hair over the same width.

Thanks for all your help ladies. I just ordered the 2.5mm channel set band with the round diamonds from Facets. They're going to make it with a rounded comfort fit and slightly thicker so that it matches up with my engagement ring as closely as possible.

Just FYI, Leah from Facets is amazing to work with. She's been so patient with all of my questions and indecisiveness!

Good decision, I did not prefer the princess cuts At All! :appl: :appl: Your set will look gorgeous with the band you chose!
Best of luck & congrats with your upcoming wedding!

Great decision! It will be stunning together with your beautiful e-ring!

Sounds great, I think you're going to be very happy. Since you liked the idea of matching up w/ your e-ring, it's best that you stayed w/ the 2.5mm and I think it'll have enough of a presence when you wear it alone (mine is 2.5mm, and not even channel-set, and it's width is plenty big enough).

Please post pics when you get it!!! :wavey:

Commenting late in the game here, so apologies. I have a facets ring and it seems very well made. No complaints at all. However, if you ever become a wedding band addict like myself I just want to chime in that I have a Round ER and one if my optional bands is channel set princesses. I think it's a killer look b/c the cuts don't compete. Just saying....
Looking forward to seeing pics when your rings arrive.

motownmama-I'm happy to hear that you also have a Facets band and that you're very happy with the quality of the band :) I may do another band in the future but I think that it would probably be a round bezel eternity, so making the call on using the round channel set was probably the best choice, especially since everyone else seemed to advise going with the round cuts. I also might switch out my round brilliant stone to an oval or cushion at some point down the line as well. I do think that it's cool how using the princess cut channel set can create some variety and contrast though between the bands!

I will definitely post pics once I get my wedding band from Facets for everyone. Thanks again for all the help and input!

Hi ladies!

I finally have my wedding band from The Facets Collection. I have some initial pictures to show you of it paired with my engagement ring, but I'll work on trying to get some pictures of just the band alone. Since I live in the polar vortex center (Minneapolis), our sunny days have been few and far between for good photo ops.

The Facets Collection did a stellar job with the band. It looks absolutely perfect with my engagement ring (although it's now obviously that I need to get my solitaire buffed and polished before the wedding). The only downside is that I don't think I'll be wearing it as a solo band like I originally thought because it's so delicate. However, I'm glad I went with the choice that I did because I think that anything wider would have overshadowed my solitaire too much. If I end up wanting a wedding band that I can wear solo, I figured that I can always order just a plain band at some point in platinum or palladium.

I'm so glad that I waited until right before the wedding to place my order with Facets. I can already tell that I'm going to have a really hard time waiting to wear the band until my wedding on April 8th. Also, I can tell that as light as this band is, it's going to take some getting used to having a little extra weight on my ring finger. I don't know how you ladies with your huge gorgeous blingy rings do it!!!

I agree! Beautiful!!!

Michelle- in your search did you try the tiffany? If so does the facets seem to be the same in dimensions?

Ame- did you try the facets band before going with Tiffany? Are they similar with the thinness of the rails and height?

Thanks for all of the compliments ladies! I do love the ring, and think that it was the perfect choice for me overall for a wedding band.

hathalove-I did try the Tiffany 2.5 mm eternity and half eternity channel set bands on in person before I placed my order with Facets. That's actually how I found out about Facets on Pricescope; I was trying to find a comparable channel set band with very thin rails like the Tiffany band for a lower price point. According to all of my wonderful PS peeps, Facets was the way to go.

I actually like the Facets channel set band even more than the Tiffany band. It could just be me, but the Facets band seems to sparkle just a tad more than the Tiffany one did. Also, Facets customized the band a little bit for me. I had them do a rounded comfort fit for the inside edges of the band, and they also increased the height slightly so that it matched the height of my engagement ring better since my engagement ring has a comfort ring shank and is around 1.8mm in height. Overall, the combination is still very low profile overall, which is what I wanted.

I also liked that Facets was able to do the 3/4 eternity for me so that I didn't have to choose between a half eternity or a full eternity. Although I love the look of having a full eternity, being able to re-size the band as needed was important for me. An added bonus is that it reduced the cost of the band to do it 3/4 instead of as a full eternity.

Let me know if you have any other questions. As someone who obsessed over her wedding band selection for months, I'm happy to provide any information that would be helpful. Also, I'll try and get some pictures of the band alone posted soon!
