Evening PS,

About 6 months ago I proposed to my girlfriend who said yes. We picked out a setting that she had though she always wanted, however after six months of wearing http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/pave/18k-White-Gold-Thin-French-Cut-Engagement-Ring.html
She decided that she wanted to upgrade the setting. (Might be a case of DSS) So... since you were all so helpful in helping me pick a diamond last time I am hoping you could do so again with picking a setting.

Heres the specs I am looking for.

The Setting:

Square Halo Setting, able to fit a Round Brilliant of .7
Semi-Mount
At least .5 tcw on the setting
Split Shank
18kt white gold
Pave diamonds that are a 3/4 band wrap
I would like it to be able to sit flush next to a wedding band (thats one of the issues with her current setting)
preferable price on the setting of no more then 2500$

I have looked though the Halo threads, and there are some great rings there, the trick is finding the setting on the net after you like it. I know that Sarah likes some of the Scott Kay settings, and since we live in Houston, I am thinking about getting a custom setting made from Whiteflash here in town. Any help at all is appreciated, as are any clarifying questions.

Thanks again,
Kyle

Kyle, I think you are going to be having a setting custom made! I will also tell you that most split shank rings are not going to sit flush with a wedding band, and I really don't think that would look better anyway.

I agree with diamondseeker, there a lot of split shanks style rings (please see below, one from Scott Kay) but will not fit flush with a band. My sister in law wished for the same thing (with a princess cut center), we ended up getting it custom made. See below her set, in a princess cut split shank halo. Her set was less than $3k, both rings are 3 rows pave set in platinum (I guess that was before platinum and diamond prices went up, it was made just 4 months ago)

Here is the Scott Kay split shank posted by greenpeas:

I agree that the split shank is going to make it difficult for any band straight band to sit completely flush. I actually like a tiny gap though. Here are a few split shanks by beverely k. they will customize so you can put a round into any of the halo's..

here's one pictures with a straight band up against it?
