Hi folks,
I've been reading Pricescope here and there for a good year now to get a general idea of what to look for, but like many folks, I'm still going crazy! Hahaha.
Anyhow, I need your expert opinions between two ROUND BRILLIANT diamonds. I am unable to view one in person, while the other is quite brilliant in visual performance in person.
Diamond 1 (Cannot be viewed in person):
AGS Graded April 11, 2005
6.83x6.85x4.14
Cut: Id0
Color: F
Clarity: VS1 (Has crystals and clouds directly under the table which concerns me)
Carat: 1.178
Fluorescence: None
Cutlet: None
Polish: NA (Supposedly ideal)
Crown angle: 34.6
Pav angle: 40.5
Table: 57%
Depth: 60.5%
Girdle: 1.2%-3.7%/Thin to Slightly Thick (I think)
HCA: 0.4 (LR: EX; FIRE: EX, SCIN: EX, SPR: VG)
Diamond 2 (Viewed in person, but slightly more pricey than I would like):
GIA Graded September 13, 2011
6.29x6.32x3.79
Cut: EX (Belgium cutters if that matters)
Color: F
Clarity: SI1 (but visually decent under 60x mag. The feathers are translucent and I can't even see the pinpoints. See attachment.)
Carat: 0.90
Fluorescence: None
Cutlet: None
Polish: EX
Crown Angle: 33.5
Pav Angle: 40.8
Table: 57%
Depth: 60.1%
Girdle: Thin - Medium 3.0%
HCA: 0.8 (LR: EX, FIRE: EX, SCIN: EX, SPR: EX)
If you were in my place with this info, would you buy Diamond 1 over Diamond 2? Price is not a factor. To go on a faux-french style setting. Let me know if you guys need more info from me or what I should ask of the two different jewelers. Don't really have much time left sadly. I need to decide within the next week.
Thanks!
