Good morning!
I''ve posted a little in the past, but mainly just read all of the good info posted here. FI and I have finally decided to go ahead and customize my ring because we simply couldn''t find anything ''perfect'' out there in the real world. We''re working with WF and they are the nicest people on the planet. They''ve really gone above and beyond in helping us to get exactly what we want. My fiance has done everything up to this point, but I''m taking over now since I really want a comfortable ring, since I use my hands a lot. We don''t have a huge budget but when out looking, I actually tried on a .50 carat and loved it, not too big, not too small -- so here goes... (I have a size 6 finger)
It''s a three-stone set in platinum with melee/pave going 3/4 down the band (24 1.7mm stones I think WF mentioned)
.50 carat center (one)
.25 carat sides (two)
I prefer a thinner band but Ritani is WAY too thin. Scott Kay is usually pretty comfortable width-wise for me. What band width do you recommend? I don''t want the little stones or band width to take away from the center (especially since it''s only .50 carat) but I also don''t want a channel-set look. WF said they could accomplish this for me...it''s ALMOST channel-set, but not quite. Prong-set I think they said.
I''m also worried about the ''thickness'' of the band, because I can''t stand when I can''t press my fingers together. Also - any particular prong styles you''d recommend. I''d prefer the stone not be set TOO high or too low. Any pics of similar rings or BAND WIDTH would be great. I realize a lot of you have 1 ct or higher but if you can help little ''ol .50 carat here, we''d be so appreciative!!! Pics would be great.
One last thing...what is the difference in the head of the stone (tulip, etc)? I have know idea what that means...
Thanks for all of your help..I''m getting very excited! Sorry for the LONG post so early in the morning.
