Hello all!

I''ve been educating myself as much as possible through both this site and the rest of the web. I''m ready to buy and have narrowed down my budget to $20,000~$24000.00 and am looking for a 2.0+, F, VS2, Ideal cut. Seems like either GIA or AGS are acceptable in regards to certification.

Obviously I''m looking for the best sparkle/fire and am willing to buy online but it seems difficult to find information on the crown and pavillion angles to establish a good HCA rating. I want to make sure that I''m looking for the correct proportions (54-63D, 58-62T, t-m gird) but seem to have a hard time finding a diamond with the above 4Cs and a table between 58-62 (most are 57,56, etc.).

Obviously I just want to make the best investment possible, with the greatest ''pop'' possible. Maybe I''m trying to split hairs too much, but any guidance on the diamond and where to buy (online) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

You probably mixed table and depth here (54-63D, 58-62T) it shoul be vice versa.

American ideal cut has tables in the rance from 53% to 58% however diamonds with larger tables still can be very nice. Diamonds with AGS gradin reports usially have AGS0 cut grade and known crown and pavilion angles.

Did you try to use the search by cut quality? This search is based only on diamonds with known crown and pavilion angles.

Many vendors are willing to supply you with the information you are requesting,In some cases where there is a G.I.A cert. it would specify under comments if the stone has cr.angles>35%, or < than 30%.As far as the depth and tables are concerned ,the ideal cut for round stones are withing these criterias:
d=59-62%
t=53-57%
girdle=thn-med-sltk faceted
culet=none
polish=ex-vgood
symm=ex-vgood
flour.=none-faint

If you stay withing the above numbers you should be able to get a real beautiful stone.

shop the net,talk to vendors,get the best value for your $$$$ then make your decison.

good luck

How about these choices?

I was also looking for F VS2 but ended up getting an F SI1. I think as long as its eye clean (this means top down) going SI1 will allow you to get a bigger stone or save a few thousand $$$$. It's all about what you are comfortable with.

Just a quick thought, you say you want to make "The best investment possible." I wouldn't look into an engagement ring as a financial investment, odds are you'll never get money out of it (hopefully you'll never sell it), and if you absolutely have to, you almost never get what you paid for out of it.

Of course, you may be talking about a sentimental investment. In that case no price is too high, if you want something to cherish for your marriage, you just need to find a stone that looks good to you.

Good luck in your search!
