Hi everyone,

Can you guys please give me some of your expert opinions on this diamond. I bought this at Brilliance.com for 13.5k. Is this a reasonable price and cut etc....Do I need to bring it to an independent appraisal to see if the diamond sparks or hearts and arrows?

Thank you all!!!

Best to bring it to an independent appraiser, you will need it for insurance purposes anyway. You bought this as a H&A stone? Then look for an appraiser with a H&A scope and ask for an image of the hearts and arrows. But the numbers looks good for an optically good performing stone.

The diamond has good proportions so that aspect is fine. Whether it is h&a depends, was it sold as h&a? If so then hearts and arrows images are normally provided to substantiate this. A diamond can show hearts and arrows but not meet the strict standards as agreed on by experts. If you want an appraiser to take a look you want one who is skilled and has experience in judging h&a.

You can use this tool to find an appraiser in your area.

Ditto Sc and Lorelei. However, if it turns out not to be actual hearts and arrow cut, the price seems extremely good anyway (almost too good?). I found two stones doing a cut quality search, and there was a 1.56 G VVS2 going for 16870.00 and a 1.67 for 18060.00 . So, it might be worth keeping anyway, the appraiser can let you know.

Thank you everyone for replied...

When I bought the diamond it already came w/ the seller appraisal. Do I still need to verify it w/ a local appraisal? Can I rely on the seller appraisal? The GIA cert never mentioned nothing about H&A. All it said was symmetry is excellent. Do you guys recommend any tests to know how your diamond best perform?
