This is my first time posting so hope it works!

I have been shopping for an e-ring for the last couple weeks. I have learned a great deal and believe I found a good deal, but would like some feedback before anything is final. Here are the specs:

GIA cetified
.85 (Round Ideal)
VS2
H
Polish = VG
Sym = G
Depth = 63%
Table = 59%
Cutlet and Flur = NONE
5.97 x 3.75 mm
Girdle = MED - THK
COST = $2900

Thanks for the help!

Other similar stones on PriceScope are going for between $2778 and $3765, so your price seems quite in line.

My only question is the 63% depth. A stone with a depth of more like 60 or 61% will look bigger and is morely to be well cut. Have you seen the stone in person? How does it sparkle compared to other stones?

Worldhistory, how do you know it is ideal cut?

0.85ct ideal cut with 59% table would have diameter close to 6.17mm, not 5.97mm. 63% total depth is rather deep for ideal cut stone.

Looking back at my info I guess I dont know if it is ideal cut. The Report says "Round Brilliant".

When I began my search for the perfect e-ring I was hoping to keep it under $3000. Mostly I had been seeing VS1 and G or better, but the largest certified stone with this criteria, I could really afford was about .60. I have seen the .85 mentioned above and it sparkles a great deal.

I am worried that I got caught up in the size of the diamond and perhaps lost sight of my original goal (quality over quantity).

Thoughts?

I think your last post hit the nail on the head. You got blindsighted by the carat/clarity/color and disregarded how this diamond is actually going to *appear*. This is common when you're not actually looking at the diamonds but just numbers on a screen. A 63% depth does not sound promising and at the diameter (5.97mm) you can get a much better proportioned diamond in the .7xct range with the same circumference.
