Hello experts out there, i am planning on buying this stone http://www.fancydiamonds.net/view_diamonds/5629.htm for my engagement ring, its my first online purchase so am little nervous, after reading reviews here for Leibish & Co am almost convinced that this stone worth the price tag, but would appreciate if experts in here can chime in. I am planning on having this ring set with double halos, single shank in 18K white gold with white diamonds.

GIA report for this stone says table=62% and depth=67% is this ok for a cushion cut ? Also GIA report says its a modified cushion, does the pics provided online show a crushed ice look ? Is this stone yay or nay ?

Opinions & suggestions highly appreciated

I like it. For me it would be a yay!
The color is intense, not vivid, so if you were looking for that deep saturation this one is not it. But what I like about this one is the color is lighter so the hue stays more canary like. Many vivid yellows look to me more heavy handed, like they want to be orange. I like the lighter, brighter yellow. The crushed ice effect is quite minor. If it were a modified radiant it would be all crumbled foil looking, but as a modified brilliant it just looks collide-o-scopic, at least to me. It is carrying a little extra weight under the girdle, but since it is a colored diamond that probably just helps with color, rather than detracting. Internally flawless!

The only negative I can see if that the colour distribution is leaking at the sides (so less yellow). That may be less apparent when it's set especially if you're going to have a double halo. Overall it's a very pretty stone. You don't use stats when looking at coloured diamonds as colour is the over-riding factor. On the plus side it's an IF and Fancy Intense so it has a lot going for it.

I've not seen a negative review of Leibish and there are many happy customers on this forum so if you proceed I believe you're assured of great customer service.

I would also ask about the color falling off at the edges.
Perhaps there is another with more even color at the edges.

The top clarity of IF is nice and if you want that and don't mind paying for it then it is fine, as long as you know that VS1 and up are also eye clean and more affordable.
VS2 is usually eye clean.
Sometimes SI1 and even SI2 is eye clean.
Rarely you may even be able to find an I1 that is eye clean.

While it is true that colored diamonds are cut to achieve the strongest color (and therefore the highest price) there is nothing wrong with also trying to find that needle in the hay stack with the best cut-for-light-performance too.
I certainly try to.

BTW, I have bought 20 FCDs from Leibish and have always been happy with their service, goods, prices and the honesty and ethics of their photography.
I have also returned/exchanged 8 and there was never a problem getting a refund or credit per the terms on their website.

I don't really know much about colored diamonds, but I like this stone:

The one you posted is very pretty but just not sure about the way the color looks on the edges...

While the edges look better I would ask Leibish if the 46% depth results in windowing under the table.
Perhaps someone here can make that call from the pictures.
I'm suspect it but am not sure.

I doubt whether the second one linked to has a window.

as an alternative I would also check out diamonds by lauren who have an online presence for colored diamonds. Many PSers have purchased from them before so they are trusted...just throwing out options.

I was wondering too, about the color distribution, but since the GIA report denotes the color as "even" I was left thinking the apparent color fluxion might be an artifact of photography.
