Need Dust and Prayers for FBIL & FSIL

FBIL is unemployed (laid off months ago), and his wife just got laid off today.

FBIL has done all of the physicals, testing and interviews to become a CA Highway Patrolman, but is waiting to hear back about when he can start the academy... he's been waiting for several months now. He is in remission for cancer, and not having health insurance would not be a good thing. They have a 5 month old infant a home, and a 7 year old child. (he's been the stay at home dad with the baby) They have nothing in savings, and were struggling to make ends meet as is...

Unbelievable.

Please pray for them and send job dust!

Tril, has your FBIL written his congressman? A friend of ours went through all of the requirements to become a customs officer and he waited over YEAR for them to call and send him off to training in Atlanta. Then someone suggested that he write his congressman a letter, and within a couple of WEEKS he was called to go to training. Just a thought. I don''t know if a congressman would be the best contact, but surely there is someone out there who could pull his file.

Thanks for all the dust and well wishes. I have definitely passed on the message to call and write to elected officials, their story is very compelling, and it couldn''t hurt to send an adorable baby photo as well.

I am really concerned about how they are going to make it in the coming months. I know unemployment has been extended, but it is such a vast reduction in their income, and they already had family helping them out. I think they might have to move back in with one of their parents to stay afloat, which will mean pulling their son out of school. He''s already changed schools about 3 times since kindergarden.

I really hope things turn around soon.
