Hey Ladies-
I need some suggestions for a DIY project! I would like to turn this pin into a hair clip for my hair to go beneath my veil on my wedding day. It was my grandmothers and I really want to wear it.
I was thinking of taking off the pin part (with plyers?) and using a hot glue gun to add a comb. Will this work??? Any other suggestions??? Thanks!

That is a gorgeous pin! Do you really want to dismantle it? Another option could be buying a comb and putting some fabric on the comb with hot glue and using the pin itself through the fabric to secure it. Or you could use thread to "sew" the pin onto the hair comb (or see this thread about the jewelers wire... https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/diy-hair-comb.101653/). My worry is that metal to metal using hot glue is not very secure. You may have to find another option.

I find it hard to imagine taking such a beautiful piece apart with pliers!

Cammy- that is a great idea :) I didn''t think I could attach a comb with the pin piece still on but I may be able do do that with the wire! THANK YOU!!! I would like to keep the piece intact if possible!

I''d wire it too...no hot glue on that gorgeous piece! And wire will probably hold better in the long run too. It''s beautiful!

I think as a haircomb would be stunning. What a beautiful piece and a wonderful memeory to have!
