I've been on this site pretty much all day long for the last couple days trying to learn about diamonds for an engagement ring purchase. I have learned a ton and am pretty much overwhelmed by all the info available here. I think I have narrowed it down to this diamond. Does every thing look good? Thanks for all the help it it's greatly appreciated!!

Hi desertbear and welcome!

Well done on gaining enough knowledge so quickly that you picked this diamond, is it potentially a lovely diamond! If you look at the images, we can see there is a slight stand out of the arrows in the middle of the stone, the arrow shafts are slightly more pronounced than the arrow spears, this is absolutely nothing to worry about I am sure, just a result of the camera or the photographer's head due the borderline shallow angle combo showing very slight head obstruction. Obstruction can be a slight darkening of a diamond with slightly shallower proportions when worn in a ring due to the shadow of the viewer's head when inspecting it at close range. But I doubt it's anything at all to worry about, just check with Whiteflash whether the stone shows any obstruction as above, but I think you will be fine, it's a gorgeous diamond!

Lorelei ,

Thanks for the quick reply, the diamond is a VS2 so there SHOULD not be anything that big right to obstruct that much light right. Hopefully your right and it just the angle of the camera.

Highly unlikely in VS2 that an inclusion would have any discernible effect of interfering with light return and it wouldn't have that effect anyway even if it was a far lower clarity grade and an inclusion did have any negative effects, from looking at the images I think it's just a touch of head/ camera obstruction and it won't be anything to worry about.

Here we go, this link explains what I was referring to.
