I am looking into ovals for a pendant, i would like opinions on this one please:
Diamond:

Video 1:

It is the diamond to the left 1.09 F VVS2
Video 2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1oqKN9KBvPA&list=UUEV7slr-i-VduBBnfv9MxhA&index=3
Also it is the diamond to the far left
Please factor in that i won't have a life time policy on this diamond, but i have a nice return policy.
opinions are greatly appreciated.

The 69% table listed at GOG didn't jive with the picture so I checked out the AGS memo to confirm that the table size is 54%. It has a nice spread with only a 61% depth. Bowtie seems minimal but it's there. I don't like the two medium sized areas of leakage on the left and right of the center though. That said, I have not seen many oval ASETs so don't know how common or uncommon that is. Off to check out the vids.

Back again - I don't think it is well cut enough. The only area that is sparkly is a thin strip in the center, which is red on the ASET. The rest of the stone doesn't sparkle much in the video, as evidenced in the leakage areas in the ASET. What bits of sparkle I see is coming from the green.

It seemed more tinted than the D in the first video and the G in the second video. I liked the G. And to pile it on, I think it is a little fat for a pendant.

First question is...why an oval?

Usually pears are preferred for fancy shape pendants. Great spread, and a lovely teardrop shape.

Second, not loving it at all. Especially in a pendant, it's too fat IMO.

How about this pear (provided it ASETs well). http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10106/

I thought it was beautiful in the videos! I like it's ratio the best of all of them. I think it would make a really nice pendant!

What kind of setting are you thinking about?

Ahh, I have not seen that before! I am sure it will be beautiful with her other pieces!

I also really like pear stones for pendants now that someone mentioned it. I have a folder of pendant inspiration pictures and I'll post a pear pendant to give you an idea. Obviously it wouldn't have to have two segments above the pear part, but you get the idea.

If I had the funds, this would be my choice of pendant design for a pear.

Wow that's amazing. I am such a fan of garland motifs in jewelry.

I'm not an expert, but I'm not the biggest fan of that one. It looks like there is some light leakage near the top and bottom tips, and its not putting out a lot of fire.
How about this one? http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-VS2-Good-Cut-Oval-Diamond-1495289.asp I would want to know if the inclusions are absolutely nothing to worry about, but I think it looks pretty.
This one is nice, but getting expensive. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/D-VS1-Very-Good-Cut-Oval-Diamond-1203735.asp
This one faces up like a 1ct. http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/E-VVS1-Very-Good-Cut-Oval-Diamond-1528604.asp

I was once thinking about a haloed oval pendant that I could wear N-S or E-W, so I like your oval pendant idea.

Thanks every one.
seems back to the drawing board again.
The stone is back to the listing, and i can tell you that the more i deal with the staff of GOG the more am convinced that this is the only place i will get my future stone from.
As far as the suggestions of other pendants i thank every one but i am biased to the work of Mark Morrell. His pieces are heirloom and something to keep for ever.
Will find something down the road and i will keep you posted when so.

I would cerainly agree that Mark Morrell is a fine jewelry maker.

And I concur with your confidence in Good Old Gold! I am sure they will find you a gorgeous stone! I would probably favor an AVR for a pendant since she has the AVC e-ring, personally.
