Need advise

I currently have a 1.28 Radiant Diamond EGL (I didn't know any better at the time) 7.03x5.68x4.03 E VS2 but now I want a bigger diamond closer to 2 cts. I have been trying to trade up with the store where I purchased this diamond. I already have 8k invested and they are telling me I will probably need to spend at least another 10k. I can't decide if I should reset with a halo or try to upgrade. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that price estimate would be accurate. If you want a GIA H VS2, for example, here is one for close to $17k:

You probably can get a greater size appearance by doing the halo, but I might consider upgrading before buying the new halo setting.

Thanks DS! My diamond is a rectangular shape which I prefer. How much bigger will I have to go to notice a difference? Some of the 2cts I have seen have measurements that don't seem that much bigger than the one I have.
