Hello all,

I am new to this forum
22.gif
and really appreciate your comment on a round diamond I am looking at from Blue Nile -

GIA Excellent Cut,
G color
VS 2
1.76 ct (7.8 x 7.85 x4.76)
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Very Good
Fluo None
table 56%
depth 60.8%
crown angle 34.5 degree
pavillion angle 40.6 degree
Girdle thin - medium faceted
star angle 45
crown 15.0%
pavillion 43.0%

The plotting shows tiny inclusions - clouds, one small feather near the edge. What do you think?

Thanks in advance!

We need to make a decision soon.

Thanks in advance.

Looks promising by the numbers. HCA score of 0.6. Good luck!

Everything looks great so far, I really love the specs of this stone. Do you have any images or ideal scope images to make sure?

Thanks for your responses. Is 0.6 HCA a good number?

Unfortunately, i dont have any image to share. What is a fair price range for a diamond of this quality and size? Obviously, I dont want to over pay $$$. Should I be concerned about the thin girdle?

Any comment?

Thanks alot.

Put the specs in the pricescope your diamond feature at the top of this page to see what comparable diamonds are going for. I prefer excellent symmetry and polish for a round, simply because it is very possible to find a diamond with these qualities. I also would want an idealscope image at least before I bought. I don''t think BN offers that, though I am not sure. I prefer vendors who offer more information on their diamonds.

Hello all,

Since I dont have access to idealscope, would someone mind creating a DiamCalc with these measurements for me? I saw this done on another post. Desperated for help here.

Hi christin,

It could be a great diamond, but without any images to look at, no one can really say.

A thin girdle is fine.

Here''s a fairly comperable stone to compare price with, give or take a few hundred.

http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131&item=1035159

One other note, in the event you would want to upgrade, are you aware BN does not offer that?

Thanks Ellen. The listing price for my stone is $16.5 K. maybe it is lower than the one you referenced because of VG symmetry instead of EX symmetry.

Do you think this is a good deal? I am hoping someone could run a DiamCalc request for me to see the image since none are provided by the vendor.

I ''m hoping this is it... so I dont mind about the no upgrade policy.

Please someone help me here with a image.

Thanks!!!

Yes, the VG symmetry could affect the price some. And sometimes, BN is just plain less.

I wish I could tell you it''s a great one, but I can''t without more info. The best I can say is it has potential.

Hopefully someone will help you out.

HCA scores don''t get much better than 0.6, so that''s a good thing.

There was an interesting article on BlueNile posted here a few months ago. Many people here prefer shopping with smaller vendors who provide more personalized care and trade-up policies, but if you''re not planning to trade up anytime soon, that doesn''t seem like a factor in your case (a smaller store may change owners and policies, whereas a big company like BlueNile is likely to maintain its operations in the same way for a long time, so it''s really just a matter of personal preference). BlueNile does have a return policy, so if you receive the stone and it''s not what you were looking for anyway, you can start over.

I say go for it! :)

Here ya go. Disclaimer: Actual performance may vary from this image.

Hi Whatmeworrry,

Thank you very much for the image. Does it look good? Should I go for the stone?

so how do we read this picture? I have no clue at all

. Would a kind soul please lead the way?

Thanks in advance.

Like everyone said, it could be potentially a beautiful diamond. That''s because you don''t have an image of the actual diamond. Having said that, the proportions of your diamond are really nice, it has gotten a GIA Excellent Cut, and you can try it out for 30 days to see if you like it. So yeah, why not go for it? What''s the special occasion and the rush?
