Need advice on sizing the pendant

I am a newbie to pricescope and I am already loving this community out here

. I am looking for opinions on a birthday gift to my wife. She will turn 30 on 10/10/10 and so I want to make it special on this occasion

I have narrowed down to a pendant and/or earrings as the gift, and especially love Leon Mege''s collection.

I was wondering what would be a good diamond size for the pendant and the earrings. I was thinking 1ct for pendant and maybe 0.7ct (each) for the earrings. But I am not sure if its too small

. My wife is petite, about 5''7 tall.
Also on the quality of diamond, I was thinking:
VS2+, F+, girdle= thin to thick, L/R = 1.5 to 1.75
I hope I am looking at the right things before buying the loose diamond and getting it set. My budget for the pendant including labor is 10K and 7k for the earrings. Experts & ladies, please advice on choice I have.
Finally, I live in SF-Bay area, and would love to hear recommendations on good jewelers/designers here. I wish Mr. Mege spent 6 months in the west coast and 6 in the east, but thats asking too much

I think those sizes you are considering would be lovely! I wear a pear pendant (size .75). I wish it was haloed.
(Maybe a future project).

Anyways, I just wanted to ask does your wife have plain diamond stud earrings? The reason I ask is that the
pendant can be worn everyday but those earrings (IMO) are for more fancy/going out occasions. If she doesnt
have everyday studs I would modify those earrings so that they could be everyday wear. I''m thinking
haloed pears that are just studs (my only issue with this is will they sit up straight). The other option is
leaving them as lever backs but getting rid of all the pave on the part that goes through the ear and
eliminating that extra hoop that holds the pears so that they dont hang as low. Then they may be
more everyday but still match the pendant.

Even if your wife does have everyday studs, if she does not have many opportunites to wear fancy earrings
I would still modify them so they could be worn more everyday.
